2. When it start raining, did you pull over immediately in the nearest parking lot?.....maybe wait for rain to stop and streets to dry?......maybe find a place to get a cup of coffee or a food establishment, maybe a library to do some research on the negative effects of driving the finest sports car made in the rain.....NOOOOOOOO, you continued driving, see #1 above.
3. You live in a Corvette UNFRIENDLY Establishment. Can’t hand wash her? For all things sacred, MOVE!! – Get out immediately. see #1 ABOVE.
4. Hopefully I made you feel bad about this......so much that you will Never, Never take her out if there is ANY chance of rain. see #1 above.
5. If you have got to #5 and haven’t wanted to kick my @ss yet, then you win! Kidding about #1-#4. Give her some TLC clean her up good and promise her you won’t do it again and it will all be good.
start by moving...yikes...can't wash a car??? bizarro complex
And always carry a tarp so you can cover it if there is the slightest chance of percipitation....
I live in the Northwest and my vette has seen more rain than sunshine....AND it seems fine

http://www.autogeek.net/dp-waterless...ncentrate.html which really works well, I'll wax it in the spring. DP waterless doesn't seem to work and wouldn't apply properly the last time I used it though. 40° F, 99% humidity was the likely culprit, it wouldn't polish off.It sits there a bit dirty right now, when the weather straightens out I'll take into Forest Grove to a little independent hand wash that I trust. What's a 60 mile round trip among friends and country roads?
$8.95 hand wash, new fresh soapy bucket and well rinsed cloth for every car.
I told it that the next time it happened, it was getting traded for something newer!

I'd like to be able to keep my car clean all the time but, around here the rednecks pride themselves by having the muddiest 4X4 in town and will drive through any construction site available to apply the grime and then shed it on the road so, I'm constantly having to deal with that.
Life's a bitch!

I rebuilt my T-Bucket 6 years ago. I mean down to the frame, paint stripped off body and frame, new interior, all of it. I asked a body man how to keep the paint looking like new and he advised the following knowing just how **** I can get. First, blow the dust off with compressed air. Then get a spray bottle of water only and spray an area down and let it soak in a few minutes. Hit it agin with more spray, and then gently use a water soaked microfiber towel to wash the area. Hit it again with the sparyer, and gently wipe it dry with another microfiber towel. Should be clean by now. Then use whatever product you want to polish / wax whatever. Cover car when done. Car has not seen any rain yet so the worst it gets is occasional bug splatter and road grime. Yeah, the above probably won't work for those that are driven daily but it has yet to produce a scratch, swirl mark, or marr in any of the paint. Drive it on average only 1500 miles per year. If your usage of the car is seasonal and for pleasure, then some obsession is not bad.
The Vette gets the same appearance care and it gets driven about the same (no rain so far). Just finished a complete wipe down of the undercarriage and starting the annual polishing / waxing next. Yeah, I'm obsessed, and encouraging my grand kids to be as well when it comes to cars
- they'll probably get these cars eventually and then it will be up to them how they are used and cared for.
I've had sp500s on the car 4 months now and they have seen a drop at all.
My previous vette got caught in the rain and I had permant acid rain marks that never came out. Subtle but very visible in certain light.
My paint is perfect, and the car looks freshly detailed all the time. Keeping it that way is pretty easy if you keep it out of the rain.

Wash it, clean it up, wax it, and then drive it again!!!
