When I installed a set of XSPower headers and had ECS tune my 99, it was a major SOP difference.

The money I saved by going with XSPower headers and a catted X pipe helped me to get a cam and heads package. (TSP 228R and PRC heads)
Over 400hp at the rear wheels. The headers really made a noticeable difference.

AND I still like my wagon wheels!

For me, the stock power of the C5 is more than I need in any normal driving environment; I already find myself dangerously close to the bumper of another car more often than not. I'm committed to spending most of my money on visual and interior mods 350HP is enough.

However, I would get better breaks and suspension before I'd get either of those things. I'm speaking as a person who already has 14/13" brakes and pfadt goodies.

Get the headers and a tune maximizing the new pipes and the Vararam. Think wheels when you need tires.

Then you don't need headers, I voted for wheels.

I would get some polished c5 z06 wheels with performance tires, used headers, and a tune all at the same time. Should be able to do all of that for the price of new headers...

What am I looking at spending on a good dyno tune if I go the header route?

Expect to spend around $400 for a dyno tune.

Anywhere from $300-$500 - but a decent street tune will do good for headers only - Dyno tune will yield more and you will have the print out too!

Thanks,Matt

Thanks again for all of the input, guys! I decided to go the route of headers and ordered a set of XSPower. In the end, the need for speed got the best of me! I figured that I will get a smirk on my face every time I hit the go pedal as opposed to only being able to enjoy a nice set of wheels when my car is parked!
