Oil pools in the heads under hard hard high G braking or high G left hand sweepers and does not return the pan. Bearings go dry and BANG.
High G meaning over 1.2 Gs
Solution is a real Dry sump, or change the heads out to 243 heads or an other aftermarket head.
A few guys tried Smith Brothers Push rods to limit the oil into the heads but that did not work
This is on a road course. Normal hot rodding about drag racing should not be a problem.
This is interesting. You're saying enough oil can get trapped under the rocker arm covers to starve the engine? So what then are we talking, a quart in each head or something?
I was just about to come to the defense of the LS3 heads and their ability to make all kinds of power with the stock 315 or so odd CFM.
So do you know what it is about the LS3 head design that differs from others allowing the trapped oil?
