I'd get a digital voice recorder if you don't have one before the next phone call...put her on speaker and record it. Make sure you verbalize all the details like her name, phone number, description of the incident, etc. If you meet, I would photograph her vehicle as well, make sure to get the plate in one picture at least. Just in case you do ever go to court over it. Some states require both parties be notified of a phone conversation being recorded, so check on that.
Yeah it had a little bit of curb rash already. Picked them up super cheap, so I am just rocking them until I refinish them.
So why would you want her to pay for a wheel if she didn't damage it? Do you really think that's the right thing to do? She was honest enough to leave her number. Why tack on something that was already damaged? Right is right, and wrong is wrong, no matter how it's turned.
That is so fixable and at least they will pay for it -
The nice thing is BLACK is the easiest of all colors to do, BLACK is BLACK no matter what car (unless there is a metallic flake or something etc.)
Thanks,Matt
Sorry but no it's not. Some are more brown, some more gray. Right now I have a black hood and left fender on mine bought used. Fender is an 01 and hood off a 99. No evidence either was repainted and they look different. PPG has near a dozen formulas for black.

It had a little bit of rash, not a chunk missing out of the lip. There is a difference. She did damage it, and the shop pointed it out.
Met with her last night. She is going to the bank Thursday morning to pull out the cash. In the mean time, I have gathered a lot of info including apartment, vehicle, name etc. I should take a picture of her car.

at least they left a note....hang onto it...just in case. File through their insurance and take it to YOUR preferred shop....
I was left w/ similar damage to my last C5 when I parked in Philly with no note left, so good on them for leaving a note. I agree with pewter - make sure you take it to your preferred shop. Years ago I had body work done by my the insurance company's recommended shop and it was not done to my satisfaction (and I am actually pretty easy going).

Yeah. The guy I am going to take it to does awesome work.
If you can recondition the fender then do it. Don't take it to a friends shop so they write an estimate saying you need a new fender when you possibly might not need one. If your wheels were already in bad shape but don't have a noticeable difference from before and are still functional don't push the cost of a new rim onto her. IT IS 100% IN YOUR RIGHT TO DO THESE THINGS. SHE HIT YOUR CAR, DAMAGED IT AND SHOULD BE REQUIRED TO PAY. But how often does someone leave a REAL note anymore with honest intentions of paying for damage they have done? She had the integrity to leave a note and pay for the damages. The person who hit my car recently that caused $2000 in damage did not.

The fender will probably just be refinished. He said he could patch it up pretty easily, and he has done it many a time before. I will probably just have the wheel refinished, not brand new one. That will save plenty money. I also added on a rental car, since she has decided she wants to just give me the cash for the damages. I believe that is only fair. She has the intentions of paying, but she hasnt as of yet. I am not holding my breath until I see money. We will see how it turns out. Im not trying to scam the lady, just trying to do whats fair. I want my car back to how it was, and I dont wanna have to beg borrow and steal for a car/ride to get to work/gym/home in. Yes the rim had a little rash, but definitely not what it has right now. As far as the fender goes, if it needs to be replaced, then so be it. I would want the same if I ever messed up someone elses vehicle. I would want it to be just like it was before the accident. I am in no way "bloating" things for my benefit. Hopefully in about a week and a half I will have my baby back and looking as good as ever.

Hopefully it all works out for you in the end. She'll be back in no time. Have you considered an aftermarket bumper like the tiger shark?
Dropped off a money order today for the required amount. Talked to the shop, they will be waiting for the car Monday morning and will be finished by Wed or Thursday. I will be in Ft. Lauderdale Florida for the day Wed on business, so I wont get to pick it up until Thursday morning.
