Someone in the apartments hit my car, but left a note at least. They requested I dont call them until 10am. Seeing as they left a note, I will give that to them.
Not mad. Just annoyed. Can anyone give me a ballpark of what it might cost for a body shop to fix it?
Glad to hear they left a note. Had a similar mishap at school a few years back, but they did not leave a note. Looked like a large truck was backing out and ran over my driver side fender and front bumper, believe it was 2500 to replace the bumper and repaint part of the fender.
Oh and maybe someone can chime in about the whole deductible thing. My girlfriend got hit head on in her apartment complex, (other drivers fault). Her insurance company told her it will take anywhere from 3-5 years to get her deductible back ($500) from the other (drivers at fault) insurance company. Maybe there is a way of speeding this along for you.
It just hit 10am, so I will be calling her in the next couple of minutes. Ill let you know what happens. I am thankful that she left a note, and I know it will get fixed. I just hate dealing with insurance. I bought this car because it was low miles and in immaculate condition, now this. Just sucks.
OUCH! Just to be on the safe side, call the cops and have them do a report. Cover yourself. Especially down in H-town, a lot of uninsured motorists. Looks like some wheel damage also.

Yeah it had a little bit of curb rash already. Picked them up super cheap, so I am just rocking them until I refinish them.

Sorry to see the damage to your car. Nice that the person that hit it left a note - kind of rare these days it seems. Best of luck with the insurance company and with the repair.
You need to have the HPD write it up so their insurance company can validate the claim. Otherwise it's gonna be a pain to collect.
About to head to the police station now to fill out the form. The person didnt leave their name, only number, but I was told that will be enough. I tried calling, they didnt answer. Left a message. A nice one.
My name is Frank. I accidently hit your car and someone saw me do it so I am pretending to write down my details.
Sorry, Frank
Luckily it has a bit more than that. Still have not recieved a call back, about to call again. HPD said since they admitted fault, they have nothing to do with it. I have to fill out a form and send it to DPS in Austin.
Quote, minus possible suspension damage, minus a new wheel, and minus possibly a cracked fender is $1,600. I just got that from the shop next to my office. I will be getting a quote from a guy that has done paintwork for me before and tell him to throw in the wheel and probably the fender also.
Duhhhhhhh, I see where this is going, someone hit your car,so, thinking that they were seen, they got out of their vehicle and dropped a note on your car, with a phone number. NOT their phone number, but some random number. So it really doesn't matter if LE checks the number, because the person it belongs to did not do the doo....................
I would check the neighbors to see if anyone was awoke and saw it, that way you could get a car description.
Instead of waiting, you should had made a report ASAP. It on your insurance.
If all is true, then sorry to break the bad news to ya

That is exactly what happened to me in my vette 5 years ago just before Christmas in a Toy's are Us parking lot. Note with all fake info. Scum. Good Luck, hope you got an honest person!!!
They called me. She apologized and said she just wants it to be fair for me, and she really doesnt want insurance involved so get a quote at the shop of my choice and we will discuss it.
Here in a bit I will head to a friend of mines shop that did the paint work on my brothers car and get him to write me up a quote including fender and wheel. Too bad I cant get a BB exhaust thrown in there somehow...

She might back peddle when she hears the total cost.
I've had that happen to me with the guy pleading not to turn it in becasue he was on a suspended license and without insurance. i felt sorry for him and did not report it.
When I told him the total, he said I will get back with you , and that was the last time I heard from him.
I ended up turning it to my insurance for uninsured mototrist, and I am not sure if State farm ever went after him or not. they did pay my claim.
Luckily I called them within the 30 day period after the wreck or I would have been SOL.

I intend to tell her tonight that she either pays me or I report it. She will need to give me a decision tonight. Period. I have her number, name and vehicle she drives. I have too much going on in my personal life to deal with this kind of crap. I just got promoted to geophysicist and I am busy training going out of state etc.
