I personally wouldnt spend the money on a C6 shifter as the only thing it does apparently is smooth the shifts out and I didnt have a problem with the way the stock one was, it just seemed too tall for me. when I switched from the factory shifter to the one I have now it cut down my shift times by ~150 milliseconds so it did something for me and that was when I still had the golf ball on it.

Good to know. Ever try the 'long bar' style? I was skeptical until I made one and liked it.

Here is a video of a 2/3 up shift, not one of my fastest shifts but pretty good. As soon as I can get my **** to stop spinning I should be able to get a little faster.

We made lots of screwdrivers, used them for file handles and gave lots of them away!

Seemed pretty good to me! Maybe you need a jamb nut? I took one of my regular 9/16-18's, put it on one of my arbors and then kept running a hacksaw down the middle so it was 1/2 normal thickness.

I installed a C6 shifter in my car. I love it compared to the C5 shifter. It's not a huge difference but sits about an inch lower and shortens the throw about 5/8 of an inch. I also have the C6 **** and the way it fits your hand puts your hand lower making the throw even shorter, if that makes sense. Seems like I gave 85 bucks for it, shipping included. As far as I'm concerned it's the best money I've spent on the car since I bought it.

Yea the thing is with a jamb nut I would have to raise the ball about a half inch as It actually comes down past the threads. I think I am just going to get some jb weld and put on there and see how that goes.

oops. didn't know that. Is that JB weld like an epoxy? If so, I would try some RTV silicone first, at least you know it will loosen without destroying anything.
Actually, why is it spinning? I was looking at some aluminum hardbar ***** to get some size ideas and they just advised to screw it down real tight. Even my wood threads 'self tighten' when I get the **** to bottom out.

I tried rtv and I ripped that lose shifting withing a couple weeks, I have tried getting it really tight but Im scared Im going to strip it out. Not to mention I want the 8 to sit straight on there.

Gotcha. That's the tough part of:
1-no set screw or jamb nut.
2-having a directional **** design
3-using a hard material with no give OR when it does give, it's over!

You need a couple of back up shifters!!!

Yea I have no clue if it would just strip out like I think it will, it feels like it will just strip out but I have no clue. I think I am just going to try the jb weld and see what it does. I guess Im too rough on my shifter...
