I recently came across a post for front fender flares that allow up to a 315 tire. I have not been able to find it again to ask a question. I am wondering how you can fit that wide of a tire. I currently have a 275 and it appears to be pretty tight. I understand the rear because they go straight out. However, how do the fronts fit without hitting when you turn. do you have to run spacers? Would that not change the turning characteristics?
I will be going with 2" fender flares in the rear with a 335 30 18. I originally decided to widen my rear rims. I then decided I would put my rear 10.5" rims in the front and widen the front 9.5" rims to 12". I would probably not go with a 315 in the front, however a 305 would probably be good. I have always been from the school of though that the more rubber to the ground the better handling.
So I guess the question is, can I fit a 10.5" rim in the front and what is the widest tire I can go with the stock fenders?

I dunno man.
I guess like some have said on here that they may be good for occasional road racing or whatnot.
I wouldnt think that a front tire that wide would be a good idea for a daily driven street car.
You dont see any supercar manufacturers putting tires that wide up front.
I can tell you that I run a 275/30/18 in the front, and a 315/30/18 in the rear and it makes my traction control go nuts. I turn it off and its ok but just a FYI
Actually it's too little of a variation that causes AH/TC to go crazy ie wants to do its thing all the time. Too wide a varuation causes the AH/TC to be far less likely to do it's thing when it might actually be needed. ie greater than a 1 1/2" larger overall diameter rear tire compared to the front tire.
man do i look stupid now Im rembering from my brother 98 trans am. with a wide varation the TC system would freak.s

I think if you widen your fronts 2" your going to have to tub the car or widen the on the front which i don't know if that is possible. I have rears widened to 11.5" and run the 10.5" rears up front which work great with a 305/660/18 or a 305/345/18 up front
