auto '04 coupe...17-18 in town...highway unknown until next month...i since i'm new, i also drive "spirited"...oh yeah, VR intake and mid-america quad exhaust
15-16 city and around 20-22 highway(even though the dic says around 26-30). Something is obviously wrong with my car ya know since it broke on me and i'm guessing it's the cat convertor.
The C5 gets pretty damned good mpg, but, what if you were to swap a LS1-LS2-LS3 engine (heck even a LS7 might get decent mpg!) and a T56 in your C3, it might get pretty good mpg as well, with the right rear gears, heck even a auto might not be too bad.
I have a 1965 Chevy truck with a 396 big block, and TH400, plans are to put a LS1 or Vortec (truck version of the LS1) and 4L60-E trans.
The truck now at 60 mph on the freeway driving very careful gets 13.8 mpg, hopefully with a 5.3 or LS1 and overdrive it could hit 20 mpg!
I get 13-14 in town and maybe 22 on the highway. I used to get much better but ever since Andy @ A&A fixed me up------Oh well!! Too much boost=Too much fun!! Rod
My A4 with 2.73 gears got 17-18 around town, and 27 on the freeway.
My Mn6 with 3.42 gears and a supercharger got 13-14 around town, and 26 on the freeway.
My Mn6 with 3.90 Gears, 402 and a blower gets 8-10 around town, and 20-22 on the freeway. But she is easily the most fun I've ever had with my clothes on.
Started a daily round trip of 130mi a day 3 yrs ago when I bought my 04' C5 M6. One of the best purchases I ever made
I restart the MPG counter every spring for the full years driving,
85% highway 15% city and every year it ends up averaging around 26mpg and I don't drive in the slow lane Would say it does about 30+mpg on the highway doing 80mph as much as possible.
So far its doing as good as my '12 Sonata that's supposed to be getting 35mpg
01 M6 would average 25 and 31-33 on highway runs if I kept the throttle gentle. I also once tried to see what max mpg I could sustain. It would hold in the 41-43 range in 6th at 58 mph, air off windows up and obviously, being in flat Florida helps. Able to average 41 over 10 miles, but that may not be that acurate of course. You wouldnt want to lug it that way all the time. Point is, the milage is fantastic for what they are!
Recently added STS turbos and 60# injectors. Mileage displayed has gone up actually, but waiting to calculate it the old fashioned way to confirm that.

I think you'll find the DIC not able to give you accurate readings with the 60lb injectors in there. I know my last vette the DIC was off by 2mpg when I calculated it by hand. I had a D1SC Procharger and 60lb injectors on that car.

Mine is off by 1.5-2 mpg and its stock besides the headers.
