[Z06] HELP! Reverse light fuse keeps blowing!
So a LONG time ago I made a thread about how my auto-dimming mirrors stopped working and that my reverse lights also won't turn on.
The reverse lights work when I approach the car so I know it's not the bulbs or anything.
I was told to replace fuse #21 uner the passenger seat. So after a long time of being lazy, I did that today and it worked . . . for 10 minutes.
I drove home after I relpaced the fuse in teh pep=boys parking lot. Iparked and replaced my clutch fluid, then turned on the car again and noticed the green LED in the rear-view is not on anymore.
I pulled the fuse again and it had blown! I replaced it and it blew again. So I went through a few fuses to see when it happens. Basically, I put in a new fuse, turn the key to "ON" everything is fine until I throw it into reverse and hear a distinctive *click* and, sure enough, the fuse blws again. So obviously I've concluded it has to do with the reverse lights.
Now i'm stuck as to what to do.

Any of you guys got any suggestions? I'm not that experienced electrically, so please help me out here.
Thanks everyone!

Heres the schematic that you need. I would have to say that the switch on the passengers side of the tranny is suspect. They go bad a lot!! Examine the wiring and check the switch for shorts to ground when actuated.'

Is this the switch i'll need?

Thank you guys for all your help!
My car's backup lights will not turn on, ever. No key fob or anything. I also noticed my auto-dim button never worked either. I did not know until reading this thread that they may be related. I pulled up the passenger fuse panel and noticed fuse #21 was missing. I put a new 10A fuse in there but nothing changed. Still no back up lights with keyfob or in reverse. I removed the fuse and it is still good.
What do I try next? I understand if it is a bad backup switch that it would continuously pop that #21 fuse. Perhaps a bad relay? I may try swapping relays under the hood but I thought I would get your input first. Thanks!

Actually check the voltage at the fuses. When the switch goes bad, they fail to ground the circuit and the light dont work when you select reverse.
Are you sure the bulbs are good? Test with an OHM Meter.
