In a second if the right one came along. Early c3, small/big block 4 speed. Nothing special. Same value car. Or a 80,81,82 with a 4 speed. Same value or c3 owner adds some cash.
But how much to take off for the pull key problem?
O.K. guys I just need an opinion, if you were buying a car and the pull key message was up how much would you tell the seller to take off. I am planning on selling this car and want to get a feel on how much to take off.
This thread is not about how to fix the column lock bypass.

$1500 based on the uncertainty that it will never go away. That's just my opinion.

I thought about your pricing some more and I realize it is only an opinion, but the drivability of the car isn't hurt and it runs normal. You just get the message up. I think 1500 is high.

Agree
for some it's a deal breaker/no sale, others - no big deal
just wait & see which customer gets serious ... then play your cards (maybe don't show your hand upfront) or then again - you could spill your guts ...
Your car is good looking, fix it before trying to sell. If it had that message when I looked at it, I'd just walk away. We all know that older cars will need some repair, but I wouldn't take a chance if there was a err message like that.

Why would you walk away? It is only a message on the dash. All the problems associated with it have been fixed. The recall has been done, steering won't lock and the gas cutoff has been fixed. Have you had this problem with your car.

your car looks killer !
Thanks for the compliment. I agree with you on how to sell it. I am going to ask about $13500 for it. I want a quick sell so I can get a C3 sometime in the spring. The interior is as perfect as you could be, no rips or tears, door panels in great shape. The paint is a 1/2 footer. If you get closer than 6 inches you can see some flaws. Never been hit by another car and has a clean carfax. Always maintained. If I put 1000 miles on it in the last year it is alot.

All the problems haven't been fixed or it wouldn't have the message. I was on here researching these cars long before I joined, because a few cars I looked at had some type of problem. The car I bought had several electrical issues, that I miss diagnosed. When I went to look at it, the drivers window rolled down but wouldn't go up after we put the top down. So I thought it was just the module, so I knocked some money off the deal we had made for what I thought would be an easy reair. NOT, I had several days working on it to get it fixed. If I would have taken the car to someone else I would have had a very exspensive repair. I know now why he sold the car. I know how to do my own work, but don't know these cars very well yet. Most guys looking to buy, won't buy a car like yours or the one I bought.
I wouldn't trade my C5 for a few C3s. Every one I ever drove was a rattle trap, and didn't handle any better than my 77 T/A.

Did you ever have the steering lock problem. Some cars have easy fixes and some don't. And if you read up on it, you would see it is more of a message display problem than any electrical or drivability one. Everything works in the car and drives fine starts fine, except for that message.

For me, as a buyer soon to be on the hunt, it would have to be priced as a steal for me to not look elsewhere. Its a beautiful car but its not the only one out there. I am not one to knowingly buy someone elses problems. For me, you would need to fix it or know what it would cost me to fix it and be willing to negotiate it off the price. If you tell me you have tried everything and cant fix it, i am walkin. But thats just me. I find it hard to believe it cant be fixed and you would probably sell it for more and sooner by getting it done.

Did you read the whole thread. I said I would be willing to reduce the price by $500. Which is about 5 hours labor in a chevy dealer.
540 That's a 16 or 17,000 dollar car in my neck of the woods, maybe a little more come spring. I'd start out asking more so you can discount it, and still get what you want out of it. No, I didn't have the issue you have but I had the grounding, no comm, issues. I'd be driving down the road, and all the gauges would just go nuts, windows, door locks wouldn't work. I got my car at a good price, but it's got a lot more miles than yours. I was just saying that MOST guys will walk away from a car that has err messages on it, not knoking your car at all. If you dicount it before anyone looks at it, they'll exspect another discount because of the message.
