Many of those things are illegal here - and I agree if you choose to ignore the law, no reason to complain if you get a ticket.

Humm...................a positive ticket thread, what an unique oddity. Normally I don't bother to open these, the LEO bashing gets a little silly at times. The tickets noted are generally discretionary citations.
The violator drives his vehicle through one community that is community service orientated, under staffed, etc. and does not get stopped. He enters the neighboring community, a tag and bag orientated department and is stopped and cited. It's seldom their fault for modifying the vehicle. It must be the officer's bad attitude, nothing better to do, picking on me problem.

Welcome to a society that 'looks out' for everyone.
Next thing you know, the states will require kids to wesr a helmet and buckle up in their strollers.

Oh wait, the buckle up is already mandatory in some places.

Well, lets be serious here. Why would one be so stupid as to not wear a sealt belt? Lack of common sense, I guess. And if I was a cop, I'd want to see who's in the car I'm pulling over....and if a front plate is the law, it's the law. Big deal.

It's pretty much the same here in California. Your rear window may be tinted but no tint is allowed on the driver or passenger side windows. I don't know if this applies to side windows for rear seats in sedans.

Youll be complaining just fine as soon as you recieve a BS red light camera ticket. I got one a couple of months ago, my first ticket in about five or so years. Let me say that if you blatently go through a red light you deserve the ticket, period. However the cameras are there for revenue first, safety second. I notice that on red lights that cameras were recently installed that I traveled through for years that the yellow time was significantly reduced, therefore trapping most cars since there is not quite enogh time to stop without being rear ended. The ticket I got was for making a legal right on red. The problem was that I did not come to a complete stop before the line before proceeding with my turn. I actually did completely stop but my front wheels were over the line, therefore giving me the ticket. For 50 bucks it wasnt worth trying to fight as I would have lost anyway, but I find it very stressful driving this way. On Long Island the cameras are popping up at intersections almost daily and approching any green light is a chance of getting a ticket or slamming on your brakes as soon as the yellow comes on and hope your not rear ended. If anything they should increase the yellow time to give cars a better chance of not being ticketed and catch those who do blatently run the light given ample time to stop. Just my .02

Funny My windows in all my cars are 20% totally understand the law being friends with so many cops.Have gotten tickets for it never once debated or argued and always opened my windows right away.
Have no front plate on the vette and never will put one on been pulled over cop says where is it and I tell him the truth Its home. Never got a ticket. I run straight pipes never pulled over for it but when I see or pass a cop I slab it in neutral to quiet it down out of respect.

If cops spent more time actually pursuing criminals instead of writing those money making nuisance tickets,we would all be better off!

To go out of your way to pull someone over for tint or no plate is lame. I understand if the car is speeding or doing something stupid and those citations come into play at the time. Also if the officer has a honest suspicion and uses the tint or plate to use as the reason to pull over the car I understand.

I don't understand that, when a cop walks up they will be behind you and won't be able to see who's in the car??? That law is sketchy to me, but It's like that in most states. Get pulled over buckle up (if not already), roll the window down (10% tint on all my cars), have your license, insurance, etc....take your ticket with a smile or follow the law.

A criminal is someone who breaks the law. If the law says it is illegal to tint your windows and you do it. Then you are a criminal. They could always prescribe jail time instead for those nuisance tickets so it wouldn't cost you any money.

Our law states that anything in the drivers glance area cannot be tinted. Therefore, it's perfectly legal to tint rear doors, rear quarters, and/or back glasses.

Ask me how I know!!!

Pulling someone over just for a misdemeanor has netted some BIG FISH! Disqualified drivers, DUI's, drug dealers, warrants etc. etc. these guys are criminals and should be off the street! So when you state LEO's should be looking for true criminals...they are!!

Get a Escort 9500xi and it will tell you where the red light cameras are. It works great on radars also.
