If you know you will never take them off again, use Super Glue like I did.
So far on for a year with a lot of rain and car washes and no issues.
Mine are not acrylic though, they are SS, not that it would matter I think.

Letters/Emblems not sticking ?
I did this when I first applied my Cyberdine emblems and those babies are welded on. The 3M #4298 on a Q-tip and patience will pay off. I took my time, and they are as permanent as is the sills themselves. Most people who ride in it think the car came from the factory with them.
