Nice P225, I'm not the biggest SIG fan but I always liked the way they looked and finally got to shoot one, it was SWEEET! I want one even though I have no real use for it. I use a Beretta PX4 40 cal for work and a Kahr CW9 if I need to conceal. What finish is that?
I believe Patton's pistol had ivory grips. At least in the movie he said "Only a cheap New Orleans pimp would have pearl handles". Save your $'s and get a Sig 229 in 357 or .40. No offense to the Glock fans intended. I carry a G23 only because it has no sharp edges and is very light. But in a gun fight my Sig recoils better and is way more accurate. It costs twice as much, but then how much is your life worth. On my own time I carry the Sig. Again, no offense to the Glock guys! Go shoot both and see for yourself. Enjoy! Rod
I'm pretty sure Patton had pearl-handled revolvers.

Thanks for cleaing that up. He carried two handguns as his trademark. At first, they were twin Colt Single Action Army .45 revolvers. After he gave one of that brace of sixguns to a Hollywood star he admired and appreciated having the courage to entertain his boys at The Front, he backed up the remaining Peacemaker with a 31/2-inch barreled Smith & Wesson .357 Magnum. When asked about his Pearl grips he said,"They're ivory. Only a pimp from a cheap New Orleans whorehouse would carry a pearl-handled pistol"- Gen. Geo. S. Patton
Sig ftw. I struggled w my Warther p99 qa for a while. Ended up trading on a sig after having my best grouping ever in my first clip shooting my buddies sig. Next day I bought a sig 226 and love it.
I don't know many details, but there have been some problems with the Gen 4 Glocks. Do some research if you go that route. Some people have been ditching their Gen 4's and going back to Gen 3's. Not sure if the quality control issues have been resolved yet or not. Just mentioning this because I saw something about it on a gun board a few days ago.
Good luck with whatever you decide!
I carry a Glock 19 gen 4,over 500 rounds through it and it hasnt missed a beat.Glock sent me a replacement spring for free but I havent put it in yet.Maybe that was an issue on some guns.
I think old George just turned over in his grave. Patton's three side arms a Smith & Wesson .357 and two Colt SAA.45 Model 1873 all had ivory grips
Google Patton's Pistoles.
I learned to shoot with a Glock 21, nice piece. But I love my Kimber Warrior, great 1911. When I leave my @#*& state of Illinois and can carry, the Warrior is what I carry. I also own 3 Sigs, so I would never steer anyone away from Sig Sauer.
