Default Glock or Z51

Getting some extra dough. I was in the process of replacing my brakes. My buddies said go for the Z51 upgrade and others said just stay with stock. I'm also looking at a Gen4 Glock. If I go oem, I can get my Glock. Z51 would bust my budget and Glock have to wait til April or May. My delima, better stopping power now or later? Brakes are still okay.

If you would have said 1911, SIG or H&K, I would have said put your money in one of those. But since you said Glock, put the money in the Vette. Actually I'm being biased. I had a Glock but for personal preference I am not a fan. But, they do work and are great firearms. If your not tracking the car, stick with the stock setup and go for the Glock. The more people exercising their second amendment rights the better.

New brake pads ( not ceramic) fresh brake fluid and buy a Remington R1 1911

Have 2 glocks ( G22 & G27 ) a S&W .38 Chief Special and the Remington 1911.

My 1911 is my carry piece ( IWB) under my sport coat

Tough to make a bad decision on this one. As you can tell from my user name, I kinda like Glocks. I carry the 23C model off duty and the Gen4 G23 while working. Just bought a Gen4 G19 for kicks and giggles. The other guys have mentioned some great guns and you can't go wrong with them either.
Which Gen4 model/caliber you looking to get? Is it for home defense, carry, or range work? Good luck with either decision.

You do know that the C5 Z51 upgrade did not include anything to do with different rotors or calipers, right? That was a C6 thing. Just sayin'.....

Thanks for the suggestion. Going to go with oem and get the Glock. Just got back from the desert with my buddies using his Glock 19. Stress relief before the Super Bowl!

I don't know many details, but there have been some problems with the Gen 4 Glocks. Do some research if you go that route. Some people have been ditching their Gen 4's and going back to Gen 3's. Not sure if the quality control issues have been resolved yet or not. Just mentioning this because I saw something about it on a gun board a few days ago.

Good luck with whatever you decide!
