Last week at auction a really clean 01 coupe with 96k miles sold for 11700.00 plus sales fee. I've seen 98 and 99 with 110k go as low as 9500.00 now in the summer same car will bring 12.000.00 or better.
I am selling my 99 convertible in the spring and I was wondering what to ask for it. It's black with light oak interior and a black roof. 64000 miles. Paint is in great shape, couple little blemishes. You need to get real, real close to spot them. Interior is almost perfect. It has new C6 Zo6 wheels, new tires, new brakes and drilled and slotted rotors. New battery, I just installed new sport seat covers. It has Z06 brake ducts(real ones). The computer was tuned by Corvettes of Westchester. Car runs great and always maintained. Clean carfax and title. I have had this car for 9 years and want to get a C3. I was thinking around $15500.

The best time to buy a vette is when the dude is getting a divorce, gf is having a baby or getting married usually they are desparate to sell for some fast cash. C5's prices are dropping, but not that much anymore.
I too wonder what to sell my 98 coupe at!..... I just don't drive it enough. In summer I probably drive it 1-3 times a month.I only have around 60k give or take on the miles.....Family time is more important to me than the Vette.

Sounds like a fair price. Why would you want to sell it for a c3?

I like the C3 body style and I like to be able to modify it and not worry about emission testing. I also want a 4 speed car. Theres something about it. It feels and drives like a sports car, not a 2 seat Lexus.

I hear you, you would of liked my old 81 4-speed. Top Flight car. now is in a new home in Arizona. Good luck with your quest.
If you are buying it to enjoy and drive and plan on keeping it for a few years or longer You may be ahead to care more about the condition and milage than price so much. I've been offered $18,000 for my "99" coupe but I bought it to enjoy and really don't want to make the same mistake I did before with my old "97" and sell it to regret it later. My Vette is in like new condition and drives like a new car. Sometimes you can make a big mistake by buying by price only and then find out that great deal isn't so great after all.
This is the same advice we give in the C4 section as well where the "bargain-basement", high mileage, early year cars are $5K. You can still buy a relatively low milage late model year C4 that will make a great daily driver but you'll need to pay $12K to get one thats been really well maintained.
3 years ago I was looking at C5s in the 20 to 30k mileage range. Coupes were around $15k to $17k. Z's were around $21 to $23k. Sorry wasn't interested in vert.
