I recently purchased a vararam B2 intake, due to the fact the previous owner had removed the front of the stock air box. I didn't order the one with the power duct and was curious if this is a must have to make the new intake useful. Thoughts?

No you do not need the powerduct, I did not use one on my 04.The powerduct is a little bit of a pain to install and does not fit the best from what i have seen on here, and worth 1-2 horse at best
Just ordered it last night so it will be a few days, and probably a few weeks before I can get the garage arranged to install the product. Be sure to get them up loaded for ya when I can though.
Hopefully its a painless install and turns out well.
Note that installing that requires moving the MAF and can throw codes.
So best to do just before a dyno tune, which I did. I ran without the power duct until I installed headers. Then installed the power duct and had the dyno tune done.
Unfortunately I have no data about how much the PD added... but to me it looks nicer.
