Default Drive by cable Throttle body ??

I'm sure this has been asked a million times and I've tried searching Google & the Forum but I can't find anything exact. Oh and a lot of annoying ads.

Anyway, so I see tons and tons of Drive by Cable TB's for sale and almost no Drive by wire.
So, what do I have to do to convert my z06 from DBW to DBC?

So then why are there a crap ton of DBC TB's that say they're for LS6?
Heck, from what I see even the FAST 90mm TB is a DBC.

So where do you buy larger DBW TB's for a FAST intake for an LS6?? I know it's common to use an LS2 TB so is that what people do?

As I understand it, the Camaro uses DBC...
don't think they ever put an LS6 in the Camaro though.
Maybe they mean if you put an LS6 in something else you can use that TB.

When I was asking about the FAST, Ron at Vengeance recommended the LS2 TB... and a friend of mine did just that.

Correct. I used a ported ls2 TB when going to a 90. There are aftermarket as well but need to be DBW.

Oh ok so where would be a good place to buy a Ported LS2 TB? I've seen a few on Ebay but most want a "core exchange"

I would search the Parts For Sale section of this forum and others to find good deals on used parts.

Then the next step...you'll need a wiring harness adapter to run the LS2 TB on an LS6. Check with Caspers Electronics for this.

its been proven several times on ls-1 tech that some of the late 02 camaros have ls-6 blocks in them from the factory!

Isn't throttle response better with DBC? Of course you'd lose traction control, but that doesn't bother some people.

you mean DBW ie Drive by Wire ?

Throttle response has many factors in the tune and engine build.

Yes, of course. But one of those factors is how quickly the throttle body reacts to the movements of the gas pedal. I've heard that a direct mechanical connection (i.e. DBC) yields a more responsive behavior than relying on electronics (DBW). Does that make sense? It seems intuitive to me, but that doesn't necessarily make it correct.

Fortunately, the Corvette's DBW system seems pretty sharp to me. I've driven other cars that clearly use some sort of averaging technique to give a smooth ride even during minor fluctuations in gas pedal position. It achieves their intended goal, but sacrifices throttle response.
