Help me out here. I keep seeing references to millennium yellow C5's in various threads, so much so that I even began referring to my o1 cpe as
such. In investigating methods for taking care of some road rash, I checked several sites for corvette paint codes. Going back to 1953 I reviewed the stock colors year by year and found all kinds of yellows;
panama yellow, sunfire yellow, daytona yellow, competition yellow, ad nauseum, but absolutely no millennium yellow. According to the charts my
01 is... yellow. Can someone please explain to me where millennium yellow
comes into the picture? Is it an after-market paint? I'm sooo confused.
OK guys, thanks. I don't have access to a corvette black book but upon further searching I did finally find a site that called it millennium yellow. I don't understand why the other sites just called it yellow. Maybe it has something to do with the manufacturers they represent.
Anyone know of any reason to go with one paint manufacturer over another?
Depending on the road rash, you may wish to leave it alone.
MY is very very difficult to match. It is a three stage process, white under coat, yellow 79U top coat, and gold clear coat. or something like that. not just only bottle.
I have three different shades of MY on my car. Unless the car is dirty it is noticeably.
Always use the same paint manufacture as the original.
