No way here either. My deal is never buy a vehicle that has a v-6 (or smaller) as a dealer option. IMHO when you do get a so called sports version of that V-6 car you always have to prove something to someone.
Of course if it is what you want to heck with what anyone else thinks.
I always wanted a 2002 LE, but now that I can do it... I'm not so sure I want to.
Alright, you're starting to think now........
Let's move this process down the line a little.... say a you are a friend and you ask the other guy "Now WHY did you give a up a hot Corvette for that?"
If that camaro has lower miles than ur vette and is a good deal why not..C5s are a dima a dozen and will only get cheaper as newer vettes come put. You can always get another and buy then C6s will be affordable. The 02 camaros are getting hard to come buy stock with low miles, and IMO was the last real year before GM came out with a new boat they call the new camaro.

Do you need back seats? That is the ONLY reason I would consider it. I actually did that back in 04 when I was with my ex and she had 2 kids. Traded my 01 Z06 in on a 97 LT4 Firehawk. It was a really fun car, but it is nowhere close to being a Vette.

I bet if they offered a v6 trim corvette you wouldn't be saying this.
There are plenty of people who own v6 mustangs/camaros/chargers who couldn't care less about proving anything to anyone. Some people buy a car because they like them and don't want/need a v8. Don't stereotype.
After all, do non-z06 owners have to prove something because they don't own a z06?
I have very pristine 95 Z28 vert and a 99 c5 coupe two totally different cars. I have no plans of trading either since they both have their good points. For all out handling the vette is all over the camaro though. Why not have both? The vette get's more thumbs up, from every age group.
4th gen f-bodies are great cars. However, when compared with a Vette, the f-body is a downgrade in every single aspect (unless you're a drag racer who wants a solid axle.) Unless you have some personal, emotional attachment to an '02 Camaro SS Anniversary Edition, then by no means would it be wise to get rid of your C5 for one.

I think you have your facts mixed up. There were many more 93-02 Camaro's produced than 97-04 Corvettes. I have owned a couple of Camaros and there is no comparison between a C5 Corvette and a 4th Gen Camaro. I would suggest the OP to keep his C5 and forget about the Camaro.

The camaro is a down grade for sure. I've been a Firebird guy for 30+ years, but UP graded last year for a vette. I think the vette is a great car and wouldn't consider tradeing for a 4th gen car. I chose my vette over a 35,000 mile T/A last Feb. and my vette had 135,000 on it. I still have a 77 Trans Am and a 96 Firebird drag car. There is no comparision between the 3 cars. The vette handles much better hands down. Both birds would handel the vette in a 1/4 mile, but they wouldn't get 20 + mpg either.
