And I love it! What a difference in drivability, car has so much more torque!
The auto shifts quicker and overall the car is so much more responsive. I can actually cruise in overdrive at 45 mph and get decent acceleration. This is going to be huge in helping me improve my gas milage. As long as I can keep my foot out of it.
Very please with my results, would recommend to anyone looking for an easy way to get better performance out of their car.
Looking to get mine tuned - hopefully this spring sometime.
The Diablosport tuner is so easy to use. Only took me 15 min and I was done. I loaded in the canned tune and didn't modify any thing. The shifts are nice and quick but not bone jarring. I would actually prefer them to be a little snappier. Not sure how much power it added but the car runs so much better.
These handhelds in general store your stock ECM setting, and have 1 or more tune files you can install. Some allow you to modify some parameters (like tire size, cooling fans ON, and several other parameters).
Not really, the computer can adjust for some of this on it's own. Unless you start doing cam/heads/engine internals, most handhelds will be fine.
Not sure about this but the instructions that came with the tuner recommend a custom tune if you have any aftermarket mods. States it can cause a lean condition.

Depends on the mods, most handheld tuners add fuel and advance to do their "magic". If your not getting lean codes before you start I doubt you would after in most cases. If he's that worried about go get a dyno tune or one of those mail order tunes. There has to be one for intake and exhaust since those are fairly common mods.
To the OP. You might want to go to the Diablosport web page, hit the forums and check out some of the postings there. One thing you can do that will further expand your Diablosport experience will be to run a data log and then tweak the settings for your Long Term Fuel Trims (LTFTs). There is a guy over there named Lew who goes by the screen name of 06MonteSS who is extremely knowledgeable and patient. He can help you get the most out of your Diablosport tuner.
