The normal issue you read about here is water getting into the turn signals. The DRLs melt the top of the housing and water gets onto the hot bulbs through the gap at the top.
In normal use the headlight bulbs slot in from behind so are protected from rain even when extended. I cant remember for a stock fit as I have T85s but mine have an additional rubber gaiter over the connectors to act as a weather shield. If you've done something to let water inside the heat of the bulbs will cause them to fail if they come in contact with cold water.
Any contamination on the lamps, such as water, mud, finger prints and so on, will cause the lamp to fail right away or usually right away. Whenever installing them, never touch the glass and try to insure the lamp assembly is water tight.
