Default New Battery

The weather is getting nice, so I wend downstairs to fire up the vette for a ride, and much to my disapointment, the battery was dead, tried charging but it wont hold a charge, time for a new one I guess! New AC/Delco in the way.

Or use a tender and they last for years.

Is it an AGM?

Yep, you have to drive them often to keep the battery up.

My AGM is original 2001, I use the tender. It hasn't given me any problems. Thinking of replacing it with a AC Delco 75 6yr. 120 reserve capacity.

I have one on my bike that's about 6 yrs old, one in the vette is probably that old too. Keeping them topped off all the time has several advantages, keeps the battery working more years and less stress on the charging system to get the battery charged.

My Optima Red Top is going on 7 yrs now & I'll be replacing it this spring. IMO my CETK 3300 has helped prolong it's life.

I have an '03 Honda VTX 1800c with the original battery (Yuasa). I keep it on a battery tender just like my '02 C5. Walmart sells good ones for $25 or so.

I like the Ctek (think mine is a 3000). In addition to trickle charging (just maintaining) the battery charge it also runs a conditioning program when necessary to keep the battery healthy. Been working great for five or so years here.

Not necessarily ruined. Try putting on tender with desuph for couple weeks. I did it and mine fine now. Regular charger didnt work but deltran restored it. That was two years ago

I bought my 2002 Dodge Ram with a 5.9 in Nov. 2001 . Still the original battery and it is a DD. I keep a set of jumper cables for when it dies.

I use a Battery Tender Plus (by Deltran) on my car. Have never had any problems at all with the battery staying charged. About $60 is what they cost.
