I've searched and I'm sure its somewhere but I can seem to find the answer.
I have a '99 FRC and randomly this morning I got the service column lock display. The steering wheel doesn't lock, but I get the fuel cut. Do I need to install the bypass (which I have), or can it be sorted by pulling fuses, disconnecting the battery, or some other way?
Owned the car about 5 months, and first time I have seen it. New bcm as well.
I've read that but it says the solution is to install the bypass before the issue occurs, mine has already occurred. My column didnt lock, so will the bypass still resolve the situation?
This is a different product than the typical column lock bypass. The manufacturer is a site vendor. From what I've read here, the company is very helpful when the symptoms appear. You might send them a message to see if the LMC5 will work for you...

I put the bypass in after I had the fuel cutoff issue on my 99 and it worked
On mine I unhooked the GM K harness and connected the lock motor back up. It worked like that until I got the bypass. My lock motor still worked. The ring was gone so it did not lock. The problem was with the K harness in my case. Now I have the CLB.
