I like it so much…..I started on mine today (they're SLP Loudmouths). I'm going for a blackout on the ole mil yellow Z. I really think it makes it look mean.
The Z, to give you an idea:
Emblem overlay blackouts:
Now the new "project" Painting the exhaust with 2000* Rustoleum primer and 2000* matte black Rustoleum paint. Its gona tie the whole thing together I'd say:
Black is going on tomorrow hopefully. Can't wait for the finished product!!!
Got the side markers, 3rd brake light, reverse lights, and tails tinted. Also painted the exhaust flat black and the exhaust plate area. I did 3 coats of 2000* primer and 6 coats of 2000* paint. I really like how it turned out. Only thing to finish off the murdered look is black lug nuts from Gorilla (which are on the way)
Look really nice Zeppelin, you have a nice color combo going. My only suggestion would be to get an exhaust plate. I bought a polished one, but painted it using plastidip and think it fills in the area between the exhaust tips nicely...
The exhaust pipes are about the ONLY place I want or like chrome and I especially like the more subdued look of tinanium. I actually dislike any chrome and like the business like , purposeful, functional look of non chrome parts. Chrome always makes me think of those Russian military parades where the missle launchers and trucks have white wall tires.
With black pipes you can not even see them under the car and in a dark area.
Bottom line is if you are happy with something then that is all that matters. There will always be people who have different opinions on design, art and what looks good. All that matters is you like it which is why I never can understand threads asking "do you like the way this looks?"
dooode!!!! thanks a lot for posting this. I've got the mil yellow Z as well and am kind of going for the murdered look. My tails and wheels are already black and I have been debating on getting the axel back painted/powdercoated black. I think this made up my mind…..yes I am doing it. I may wait til winter though because I just got her al buttoned up after the header install and have been driving the **** out of it (I just got her last Nov so I've been having the time of my life). It'l be my little winter project. Thanks again
Wait wha.. how could something be "murdered out" if it is painted canary yellow?

IDK… I guess my definition of murdered out is that the wheels, lights, windows, and emblems are black…..no chrome. To me, the car doesn't have to be black on black on black on black. I also call a white car with black wheels, a stormtrooper, and a white car with white wheels, coke'd out….I'm happy with mine. Every last detail I wanted to do, I did. I think it turned out very nicely. I like the contrast of the yellow and black. yellow's way easier to keep clean over black too. Only thing left to do (at some point) is to lower it a touch
