Default 99 Tire pressure sensor refurbish?

Does anyone still refurbish these? If so, I have a couple I'd like to have new batteries in. Cost?

Slight digression but a member posted this giving another cheaper after market option:

I had a long chat with a technical manager at Schrader-Bridgeport last evening re. Costco's recent decision to sell TPMS sensors as part of their tire operation. He confirmed that Costco will have sensors for the Corvette; for the 97-00 model years, the part number is 28006 [EDIT 00 sensor?]. Schrader-Bridgeport manufacturers the majority of OEM TPMS sensors; they make the GM sensors. He said only difference with the 28006 sensor and the OEM will be the color. The replacement will be a reddish-orange. It will come with mounting nut (important to tighten to 62 inch-lbs), and valve stem cap. I asked him how "fresh" the units would be, and he said they would be new/recently manufactured. He also said the batteries go into a "sleep" mode when not in use, e.g., while resting on a shelf, so they stay "fresh" for a long time. He was probably blowing a little smoke here, but I see no reason to doubt these sensors would achieve Schrader's advertised 7-10 yrs, or 100K-mile service life. Personally, I'll be buying these at Costco--$47 ea. vs $177 at the dealer is a no brainer.

I would assume the cost for a new one is not much more. You can do it your self check out you tube,

The reason members refurbish the old sensors is that they cost significantly more than the newer type. Here are Gene Culley's current prices:

||--Genuine GM C5 Tire Pressure Sensors/TPM--||

2001-2004 Sensors

25773946 – sensor – $40.60 each
15234846 – nuts – $3.95 each

Total setup of 4 is $178.20

Note: The sensor comes with the washer and valve stem cap.
Setup includes: 4 sensors, 4 washers/o-rings, 4 caps and 4 nuts.

1997-2000 Sensors

25981210 - sensor – $100.78 each
15234846 - nuts – $3.95 each

Total setup of 4 is $418.92

Note: The sensor comes with the washer and valve stem cap.
Setup includes: 4 sensors, 4 washers/o-rings, 4 caps and 4 nuts.

This sounds "Too-Good-To-Be-True" .....
Has anyone actually verified with Costco that it is the Gen 1 Sensor that fits a 99 Corvette for $47 ?? and not the Gen 2 that is for the later model C5's ?
