I have some chips and nicks here and there on my 2000 bc I drive it as much as weather allows. 106,000 plus miles and still loving the ride. I also have some areas where the clear coat is chipping off on the hood and headlight covers. Does anyone have a ballpark idea on what the costs would be to repaint the car? No color change or anything like that. Surely someone has done a repaint on these cars and has an idea....
A good pro will want to remove the panels and reprint/clear individually. I hady front and rear bumpers repaired and cleared plus added a Caravaggio rear spoiler, also painted and cleared plus some other touch ups for $1000.

thanks so much,

Dont do that. You will never get factory finish and shine with bodyshop paint jobs

I would expect a full car paint between $3-$4K.
Heck that's not a bad price, and would be well worth it.

You'll get a better finish. The factory paint (especially the clear) is VERY thin. A QUALITY paint, correctly applied, color sanded and buffed will be SUPERIOR to the factory every time.
What you need to do is learn how to paint it yourself!! I learned a few years ago on a junk yard fender. I did a color change on my car from black to Kandy Apple Red. total cost on materials $700. Oh Yea! and I painted my car in my DRIVEWAY!!
As for the finish (Clear coat) you should go with PPG 2010
This clear is thicker than factory and it resist fwy chips, plus! it give you that deep gloss we are all looking for.
I had my car repainted about 2 yrs ago same color it was a insurance claim had a Dealer do the paint it came out perfect total cost 8900.00 my cost 100.00 it is costly in Cali. The other problem is they use water base paint now and color match on older cars is hard so you need to have a full paint job is what I was told.
No color change paint job around here runs around $3200. It's a nice finish, but I got to agree, not quite a factory finish. I have to wait a couple of weeks before a buff, polish and wax can be done. I'll know then what the finish will looks like.
Artyysvette- you did an awesome job... I rememer seeing the start of you changing the paint on the vette.... You did really awesome job... I love the last pic and the girl on the drivers side very nice...

So much is going to depend on what the body shop charges for labor - I'd say you are looking at somewhere around $3.5-5K or so for a no color change paint job on the car.
Thank you!
This is the reflection off the hood of my Vette.
as for the girl you mentioned....... here you go

Hard to tell from the pics but it looks like you did an awesome job!!
That's one thing I'd love to learn to do is paint. I will .. one day!
I've got a friend-of-a-friend who is going to do the bottom of my doors and front clip for under $1k.
After going through a color change on my car, I can't imagine anybody could get it done for $3k (even staying the same color). Are they removing any parts/glass/etc. or just masking, scuffing and spraying??
