I hate mine, but I'm afraid to mess with them, so they stay.

Not necessarily, many of them were ordered that way and thus the factory installs them. Mine were installed at the factory but I removed them after a year or so.

Correct. My original post mentioning dealer "add ons" meant they ordered the car with BSM option. They did not install them at the dealership.

Nailed it.

I'd be willing to wager that the C5 didn't come off the drafting table with BSMs in the blueprint. I'm sure the bean counters added them to add a few $$$ to the bottom line.

You funny Dawktah Jones... Me lik-ee my BSMs. The resulting breakup of the turbulence coming from the front fender vent by the BSM results in an additional 30 ft-lbs of torque and creates more downpressure on the car which give additional bite to the tires when on WOT. Plus it keeps Granny from dinging my doors as an additional side effect.

Factory installed and I like them. Was actually a high priority when shopping for mine.

Cant make up my mind about them so I am going to remove them from one side only. I mean you can only look at one side at a time, right?

I bought a 02 without them, figured I'd add them myself later. After getting used to to looking at it without the moldings I now feel it has a sleeker and sportier look without the moldings. The vehicle color may play into for me, my car is yellow. But I feel my previous car a 03 AE looked better with them. I guess it's whatever looks good to u. The good thing is you can't go wrong either way.

Which we all know improves hole-shot reaction times, and thus, faster 1/4-mile E.T.s.

like people said, it was a factory option. my 04 was one of the few that didn't have them. the vast majority of them were ordered with the moldings. and the vast majority have taken them off.

Didn't want to do it myself.
