Im in the market for my first corvette. When i first saw the red interiors i thought they were terribe. Now they are growing on me slightly. I have founfd a few very nice Z06's with the red interior that i am considering. Whats your opinion on this interior option? Whats the consesnsus among the vette community?
2-tone Wet Okole covers for the seats. Since this is your first Vette, you need to know the material GM used in these seats is JUNK. Wears out quickly and gets very wrinkly very fast. If you don't cover them, the drivers side outside bolster will wear VERY quickly as you get in/out of the car.

Yea. I have found that out with looking at a few cars. Especially me at 230 lbs. I'm not easy on seats.
I'm going for this similar look for my C5 with black interior. I got the neoprene blk/red seat covers with the Corvette logo. Not going to do the lower panel under the steering wheel or the red mat's though.
Where did you get the tuck and roll piece for the center console?
My concern is the car appealing to a more limited group of buyers come the day that i would sadly sell the car. I know thats typically not a reason to not purchase a car, but it has crossed my mind.
I've never cared for ALL red interiors. When I was looking for my vette, I'd walk away from a red interior, but I really like the modded ones like the two above. I think matching the exterior with interior accents is beautiful and much more interesting than the solid black. And with some exterior colors yoiu have a lot of optioons that would look good. I have MY and would love to do mine but I'd have to rob a bank to pull it off.

It's no coincidence that mod is the first part of moderation. Some take it way over board. My torch red came oak and black. When it was time for new seat skins I like the red and black so I started swapping out oak for black. Then added some red touches. I couldn't do the dash either.
If the car you're looking at has too much red remember red is valuable and an easy sell or trade. Swapping the parts is easy as well.
the mod red interior that came stock is i think and many others will agree one of the best looking interiors that came on the C5 cars...its has that level of custom yet being stock all at the same time...and its very hard to find the mod red peices if you so wish to convert later on.
My 02 z has mod red. Love it as it breaks up the sea of black plastic drearyness that is the C5 interior.
Comparing to a friend's car who has all black, the red leather feels a bit more quality, but it also could have been how well it was maintained by a previous owner.
I think in time this interior will be a sought after option that will command a premium.
