I run the big bottle about every third or fourth tank to keep my gas guage from acting up. Went to O'Reilly's today and they are selling it 2 for the price of 1. Just thought I'd pass that along...
Is this really necessary for a motor that only runs top-tier gas anyway? What exactly do you mean by gas gauge "acting up"??
Fuel gauge will drop to 0 due to the sensor in tank 1 and tank 2 reading a drastically different level (due to sulfur buildup on the potentiometer strip)
Chevron, Shell and Texaco have Techron in their gas.. If you are not using one of these brands, you will need to add a bottle of Techron to the tanks every few months.. Gasoline has sulfur and this will deposit on your fuel sending units causing inaccurate fuel readings, low fuel readings and eventually, no reading.. This is a very very common problem on the C5.. Very preventable too.. Techron is the best additive/cleaner on the market for getting rid of sulfur deposits on the fuel sending units.. If neglected you will have to drop both fuel tanks and replaced both sending units...an expensive job $$$....

Have you ever seen any evidence that those three brands are any better than the rest of the top tier gas providers? (this is a genuine question, not a smartass remark)

Well I fill up with the closest Chevron to me about 95% of the time. Still wouldn't hurt to add a bottle every now and then I suppose.
My gauge would act up no matter which gas I used, And I always use Chevron, Shell or 76. Since I have been putting a bottle of Techron concentrate in every 4 or 5 tanks,I haven`t had any problems with the gauge.

Agree that this is not a smartass remark, but a good friend of mine had problems with his car running rough and missing even after tune up. One brand on this list he used gas was sampled and rested at the dealer gas blend was off the chart for ethanol.

Sulphur contents vary in different staes when I go home it drives my car crazy. As long as I am in GA it stays steady
