I had an interesting and unusual conversation with my wife last night that I wanted to share. First of all, if this isn't Forum approved please forgive me. I in no way mean to offend anyone. We just had the funniest "dilemma" and I thought I'd put it out to the Corvette forum and get their opinion.
We were on the way to the park (Tyler, Texas) to walk last night in our '04 silver coupe. We happened to pass a car show at the Whataburger and decided to pull in. There must have been 50 cars ranging from classics, muscle cars to many Corvettes. Must have been more than 20 including C5Zs, C6Zs, a C6 Callaway, C6 ZR1, and several stock and modded C5s and C6s. I noticed a C5 with a supercharger and talked to the young man for a long time. Turns out it was installed next door to where I work (I'm a HS math teacher) by a garage that is a Procharger dealer. The car was bone stock other than the supercharger and made 535 rwhp. Total cost was around $7500 and the guy said he couldn't be happier with it.
While walking in the park later that night is when our conversation started. My wife loves cars as much as I do (she drives an '06 420hp 300C SRT8) and we have for some time talked about supercharging our C5. However, she has also talked about wanting "enhancement surgery" for a long time as well. We're not in our 30s anymore (in fact, won't be our 40s much longer ... ). She is beautiful, in great shape, but is 34B and has always talked about wanting more.
Here was the question that came up. If you had an extra $8K or so, would you go with the supercharger or ...? We had the best time talking about this and giggling!
Not to sway your thoughts but I suggested just saving up $15K and doing both (or actually all 3!) Since I'm a math teacher, wouldn't that bring the price of the supercharger down to $5K since you're buying three things?
2+1= Thats a tough choice since both will put a huge smile on your face. We all know your hands will grab, but will your tires? Seriously though, as much as i would want the supercharger, i would go the route of the augmentation for her if she wants it that bad. If she is happy, you are happy! Keep saving for the SC for the Vette!
I feel it would be selfish of you to get a superchatger since it's basically something only you will appreciate, while you wife's augmentation can be enjoyed by all of us to a certain extent!
I would go with the supercharger - no brainer.....
ANY type of surgery that's not a life saving procedure should be avoided, especially if your not spring chicken anymore.
I agree. I know from personal experience that you should let your Wife choose with NO input from you!
FYI Surgery always has risks, Things can go wrong. She is also signing up for future Surgery. 7, 10 years in the future. Love her the way she is, Enjoy the Vette and take some great Vacations together with the Money!
Go with the supercharger. It will continue to perform consistently as long as you own your C5, whereas the other option's performance will tend to degrade over time due to gravity.
I know a guy's wife that had them done. She wears the smallest shirt she can so EVERYONE knows they are there. You can't even talk to her without noticing EVERYTIME. It's distracting and a nuisance. I say this and my girl has the same problem but she doesn't advertize. Go figure?
First,,IMO,,B's are't bad to begin with,,and fake ones usually Look FAKE!! The "34" indicates she is slim and trim and much more than a "B" would probably look out of proportion!!
That said,,seems the supercharger would be a good choice, especially since she likes horse power as well!!
Sounds like she is good natured and has a sense of humor,,and really would be more practical and go for the S/C as well!! Get the S/C,,and later IF she needs/wants them,,go for it Regardless,,ENJOY!!!:che ers:
