I love my '99 C5 convertible and have not - until now - had any serious desire for a C6. But the 427 convertible in the white and blue color scheme has me lusting. Saw one on the line on the plant tour the other day. Wow!
I figure that it will only be, oh, 10 - 15 years before its depreciated value and my disposable income get close enough that my wife won't divorce me on the spot if I brought one home.

So that is a blue stripe? I thought it was grey all this time...it is one badass C6 combining the best of the Z06 and the Zr1 according to the magazine ads....should hold its value like the Z06s do....would love to own one but it is just too much to put into a vehicle in my opinion.
It is a sweet ride and I think I could swing it if I got the right money for my car but, the divorce would definitley put me in a negative equity position

That is an absolutely beautiful car, but like many others, no way I could justify putting that much money into a car. Like the OP, only way it will ever sit in my garage is if it depreciates down to a much lower price.

My plan as well. Let's just hope the first owner treats it well.
Hang in there, it is just a matter of time before the depreciation factor kicks in.
The upcoming 2013 limited production 427 convertible will be made available in all 2013 colors, including the 60th white package.
All 2013 Model lines; Base Coupes and Convertibles, GS Coupes and Convertibles, and the Z06 - will be made available with the (Z25) 60th Anniversary Design Package.
The Z25 package includes all this:
(10U) Arctic White exterior color
Diamond Blue leather-wrapped interior with Blue stitching
60th logos on seats and special steering wheel badge
Suede steering wheel, shifter and park brake with Blue stitching
(34T) Blue convertible top on convertible models
Special 60th wheel caps
(J6D) Dark Gray Metallic brake calipers
Body-color door handles and body-color ZR1-style full-width spoiler.
Optional within the Z25 package is the (Z30) 60th Anniversary Stripe Package, includes Pearl Silver Blue dual, full-length body stripes, which includes tonal stitch Blue stripes on convertible tops.
For every single 2013, last year C6, 60th badges will be on the nose, gauge clusters, and door sills, and on all verts - the waterfall.
Until such time that a well depreciated, well pampered wide bodied Z25 package car comes along, my soon to be 10 year old C5 50th will have to do.
I can see getting a C6 or even a C7 some day later on down the road. Once I retire completely I figure I can pay for one with the gas money I will save by not going to work everyday.
I may be biased like most other people in the C5 forum, but I think the C5 is the cleanest and best Corvette to date.
I've liked the C6, especially the blue Z06's, but not enough to sell my C5 and buy one.
With that being said, I think the picture above is one of the most beautiful cars I have ever seen. It's a sad day when it doesn't come with red interior, but I'd settle for blue. It's starting to become more popular.
For the foreseeable future,,I see HUGE dealer mark ups on that one!! Limited numbers on the white one and a lot of dealers can't even get it! Wouldn't be supprised to hear of 100% mark up paid by somebody. There were some that paid 30k OVER the 40k price for the first of the new baby T-birds! Wonder how they feel about THAT purchase now! I also foresee future future AE-SE-Commerative nomenclature controversy in the C6 forum in years to come!! Regardless that is one HOT look'n car!!!
