The problem with the tail of the dragon is all of the cops. I was planning on going there with my 1000RR once but I got so many reports of cops just laying in wait all over the place busting everyone who does even the most remote thing wrong that I didnt think is worth it. I am going to be road tripping mine down US1 from cocoa beach to the keys.
I'm a local, yes, the dragon is patrolled, we lose several bikers erery year. On the other hand, there is usually a Highway patrol at each end of the run and every once in awhile you'll see a BMW cop bike. They are mostly there just to remind you of their presence, and to write up the latest biker crash.

Nice place to go. I love it out there. My wife hasn't been and she's bugging me to go. Hot Rod power Toyur keeps getting the way though
Maybe next year I will plan a trip out there for her. A chance to take a roadtrip in the vette is fine with me.
