Default interior door piece missing

I noticed the other day that the piece behind the grab handle on the passenger door is missing. I believe this piece hides the screw access. Does anyone know where I can get a replacement? Is there any reason this would fall off by itself????

Thanks

You can get this piece at the dealer. I just picked one up the other day for a little under $3. It only holds on by a series of tabs and snaps in.

Both of mine have fallen off within the last year and both were found under the seats. I couple drops of gorilla glue has kept them snugly in place.

Chevy dealer is fastest and cheapest and no shipping. They're called door panel pull plugs.

Here's the part number for black (ebony) and the price charged by gmpartshouse.com. The dealer may charge a little more, but no shipping.

10279471 – Door panel pull plug (rectangular shaped ebony) – $2.47

They ALWAYS fall out. The tabs on these flimsy covers are very small and get brittle with time. It just takes one tab to get weak or crack then the cover falls off the door panel.. Its easy to snag them with a finger nail when grabbing the handle.

Get a few extras while you are buying them.

No tools or knowledge necessary to install your new covers. They just pop in. Just a hassle to make a trip to the dealer for this.

You can mail order them from vendors here or on the auction site, but I have found that the shipping for such a small / cheap item is not worth it.

This is one time that going to the dreaded dealer makes sence.

They are held on by two small plastic tips. In time, they simply break off due to age. I bought 6 the last time I needed one just so that I have spares on hand.

You can use glue, however that defeats the purpose if you ever need to remove the door panel or door handle. Maybe add a piece of rolled over tape or velcro to help keep it in place in addition to the tabs.

Got my spares at a dealer and yes, get a few extra - they do tend to break over time.

Yeap, as they stated your local Chevy dealer is the best place to get them; I used silicon on mine, and if you pull them off for any reason the silicon will pull off with out damaging the skin behind the door pannel plug.

This is one part where its better to buy it at the dealer. Shipping costs more than the cost of the plug.

I got through 3 before I put a piece of 3M double sided tape on the back to hold it in place. Not looked back since.
