Default Weatherstrip Question..Vert..

I am looking to move up to a C5. I looked at a 99 vert today. It's in pretty good condition and all, but have a question on the weatherstrip. My question is the piece that goes between the window (drivers and passenger side) and the top it seems to have a split in the middle and in the end of the piece at the back of the glass. I hope I am explaining this clear enough is them splits supposed to be in these pieces of the weatherstrip. I did do a search and couldn't find what I was looking for..I hope someone can help.

You can replace the weatherstrips you just might like to check prices. The clip that seems to be missing is the blow out clip.

Here's the procedure. PM me if youd like the doc with the diagrams

Weatherstrip Retainer Replacement - Folding Top Front and Center Side Rail
Removal Procedure
1. Remove the front and center side weatherstrip from the retainer. Refer to Weatherstrip Replacement - Folding Top .

2. Remove the screws from the side weatherstrip retainer.
3. Remove the retainer.
4. Pull the window blowout clip from the front side retainer.
5. Clean the adhesive from the blowout clip using 3M™ P/N 8984 or equivalent.
Installation Procedure

1. Apply sealer, GM P/N 12345739 (Canadian P/N 10953472), or equivalent to the front side of the blowout clip on the front side retainer.
2. Align and install the clip to the middle screw hole of the front side retainer.

3. Apply sealer, GM P/N 12345739 (Canadian P/N 10953472), or equivalent to the rear of the blowout clip and the adjacent area of the front side retainer.

4. Apply a bead of sealer, GM P/N 12345739 (Canadian P/N 10953472), or equivalent to the upper edge of the front section of the roof main control link on the front side retainer (3).

5. Position the retainer to the side rail.
Notice
Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
6. Loosely install the front screw attaching the retainer.
7. Install the remaining screws.
Tighten
Tighten the screws to 4 N•m (35 lb in).
8. Apply sealer GM P/N 12345739 (Canadian P/N 10953472), to the retainer (3, 4) and install the weatherstrip. Refer to Weatherstrip Replacement - Folding Top .

In short, yes. These splits allow you to lower the top.

If you buy it, get some dielectric grease and keep them soft. Mine leaked pretty good when I got it, because the seals were starting to get dried out. You will LOVE the vert, I do.
