I'm sure the Meguires clay bar is a good product. The only one I have experience with is the Adams clay bar and it did an outstanding job on my previous car.

What brand waterless wash do you use? I think a second full was is overkill after the clay bar and I've simply used detail spray to remove any excess clay film prior to the polish.

You can tell what C5 owners do. This thread has more responses for an opinion on a clay bar product than most build threads.

True dat! I barely have enough time to drive and detail mine let alone a full build project...

I detailed my 99 today with a clay bar cleaning, and it looks great, smooth as a baby's butt. I think I'll clean and detail my Harley the same way. Maybe wait for a rainy day though.

Sorry! I thought you were joking!! The blue is the original. Sometimes they add scents or other additives to 'new' colors.

The additives were exactly the reason I asked, thank you for the info, and sorry for being a bit snippy. The ex has me a bit ticked off this morning and I woke up with a migraine to make it even worse. Also, green was the color of the original Dawn. Blue was added later.

Ed, I hate to worsen your migraine, but you may be thinking of Palmolive, which started green.

Nope, I was surfing the Proctor & Gamble (the Dawn manufacturer) site (trying to figure out the safest "color" to use lol) and ran across an article written by one of their employees about the original green color of Dawn when it first came out. So green was the orginal color, but today's blue is the original scent. I just came back from picking up a bottle coincidentally. I'm hoping to get the car over to my tint/decal guy tomorrow so I can have my GS stripes put on.

funny, 'cause I googled the same thing and found numerous references to 'original blue Dawn' . Who cares? It does the job. Zaino requires it before using their system. If your car is white like the one in your avatar, what color stripes you going with??

I got the silver stripes; I want the contrast the stripes offer, but I also want them to be understated. I'd thought about black, but that would stand out too much against the bright white.

just what I would pick. I was fantasizing about the 'build your own' GrandSport Raffle that NCM just had and if I built a white car, it was with silver stripes.
