I am looking for someone in northern VA, Richmond, or Maryland to install sound deadening material in my 97 C5. I would do it myself but health problems prevent me from doing much with the car execpt driving and enjoying. Would appreciate any info that can be provided.

Find a local audio installer and have them install Dynamat Extreme for you. Any "Good" installer will keep it in stock and be more than happy to do the job for you.
Just a suggestion... the storage compartments in the coupe, if empty act like a speaker enclosure and transmit and amplify the sound from the exhaust system. I keep a car cover in the main compartment and fill the other small ones with other things like air pump, unused cargo net, terry cloth seat covers etc. I found that this significantly lowered the noise transfer of the exhaust system. The next thing I did was install a good quality cargo floor mat. The end result was a very significant reduction in sound.
I suggest you try this before taking the interior apart to add sound deadening material. By the way I got the ideas from other forum members. Some suggested sound baffling material for the storage compartments, which I was considering but due to circumstance found myself filling the compartments with other things and couldn't help but notice the reduction in the level of the exhaust sound. I know many love that sound, but not so much for me.
