Default Nose Cover - GM

Hey all, looking for some feedback. I am planning to get a nose cover for some trips to keep the bugs and such off. Want more then those nylon type stretch bras. Looking hard at the GM cover and wondering if anyone has one and their thoughts on it - fit, install, like it or not, would you buy again. I first thought I'd go the Speed Lingere and get the color matched Torch Red. Really like it but for my use of 3-4 or so times a summer I could live with black and not pay out the ~$600.00 vs. ~$100.00. It's a lot of cash which could be used for other mods.... They look great but...
Thanks

As shown below, I have a genuine GM bra on my 2000. It's tight as a glove, and as long as I keep a good wax job on the area underneath I don't have to worry about scratches at all. I keep mine on most of the time and haven't had any trouble with it. Best of all they're only about $96 including tax and shipping. I opted to leave off the second piece of it that covers the front of the hood because I think it looks better that way, but it does come with one if you decide you want to use it.

Didn't the "official" GM bra change manufacturers/locations (China, Mexico, etc.) over the years effecting fit and finish?

I agree that Speed Lingerie makes a great nose mask but the price is pretty high. Perhaps an eBay search for a TR version may result in a nice, lightly used one.

I bought my bra (and a spare) from a dealer in Kentwood, WA this past January, so it's still relatively new. I don't know where it was manufactured, but it fits better than any bra I've used before.

That's good to know. I know there were some complaints on fit and finish a few years ago after the C5 run. I think it was originally manufactured in Canada.

The GM bra is no longer available for the ZO6 and I heard it was a fitting nightmare anyway.

Are there any problems using the standard coupe/vert GM bra on the ZO6? Cooling, breathing, etc...

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Thx, mik

I have used the GM bra on each of my C5s and they have been great. The bra really protects the front end, fits very tight, and it is very easy to install and take off. It does take a few times putting it on and off to get it to stretch properly but that's a small price to pay for the protection. And for the price, it's hard to beat.

I would highly recommend the GM bra for your car.

I just bought one from mid America motorworks. They were 179.00 but now on sale for 99.99. It has a really nice c5 logo Embroidered in the front. The item number is 628630. Shipping was 15.99

I see it there. Does the inside (next the the body) have a good soft cover to prevent any rubs/scratches, and how is this mounted, clips in the wheel well?

Thanks all again.

The Coverking bra is really nice and fits good. The first time you do need to stretch it quite a bit. You will need someone to help (the first time).
