I have heard that the really shiny metal foil finished ones can crack a windshield if the sun gets focused just right on it.
Maybe if by "sun" you actually mean a 1Watt laser...
On another note. I have one from walmart or autozone or something. $7 I think? It doesn't have the Corvette logo on it though, so that's the only down side. People who see the car from the front won't know it's a Corvette, since our cars blend in so well with others.
Sides were already on car.not limo dark i think..the front is just solar guard tint.its actually clear but darkens when its on..so depends in car color int color and other tint.i just roll windows down when leos are present
Here's the one I'm currently using, made by CoverCraft. I didn't buy mine from Zip Products (the photo), but they are a good vendor and have good customer service and their prices are within a couple dollars or so of all the other companies selling the same brand. It's a one-piece unit, without the logo (my choice), and well made and good quality soft binding material all around the edges.
I have this sunshade and am considering a BlendMount for a V1. Does the BlendMount interfere with getting the sunshade in and out?

Good question. I have a Blendmount and yes, it does a little. If you're going to get this sunshade and you have a Blendmount, depending on the exact location (higher or lower position, etc) of the mount, you have to slightly bend/roll the center top edge (approx 1") of the sunshade while pushing it firmly down into the bottom front of the windshield. After that it goes into position without problem.
I would recommend taking the sunshade to an upholstery shop and having them remove and re-stitch/re-apply the border trim in a small area at the top center of approx 4" wide and 1" high. You can install/remove it without doing this of course, but you just have to carefully bend the edge each time as I said.
I really likes muh Blendmount so removing it is not an option for me, plus I also like the quality and coverage of the shade too.
Tint your windows and get any of the sunshades ( I like the ones with the Corvette logo) and the best advice is to crack your windows 1/2 inch when you park in the sun. You will be amazed at the reduction in heat.

I already have the sunshade and it makes a huge difference. I didn't think it would clear a BlendMount without having to bend (or cut) the sunshade, but I wasn't sure. Your suggestion about getting an upholstery shop to remove a piece and replace the trim should work well. Thanks!

I didn't claim that it was an absolute fact, but that it was something that I had heard. However, upon further reflection, I believe it was a review article that I read in one of the automotive publications and they claimed that there were a couple of occurances to that end. It is something that I could see might make some sense given the heat generated by the sun on enclosed spaces.
All of that aside, there is one thing I will say of which I am absolutely certain!!!........There is no impregnable fortress such as that of the closed mind!!!!!
