Had the windshield replaced in the 2000 vert yesterday. Old one had a wiper arm scratch provided by a former owner. Tolerated it as long as I could. New is GOOD!!! When driving it is like looking directly into the distance, not looking THROUGH a windshield to see down the road.
I'd like to know this as well. I need to get a new 'shield for my 2000. It's covered in small chips and has a couple of good wiper scratches, all courtesy of the PO.

Other side of the country (Northern California), but I know my brother just had his windshield (HUD) replaced on his 2005C6, $900.
I replaced my hud z06 windshield about 3 weeks ago. It was free. Covered by my insurance.
Did they replace it with a GM HUD windshield or an insurance provided aftermaket windshield?
Also, does the claim have to be damage related or just wear and tear over the years?
My windshield is in pretty good shape, however I had a rock chip repaired last year. The gel prevents it from expanding however it is still there. It is located directly on my line of sight near the HUD display. It annoys me more than anything and is the only flaw in the windshield.
I had a very small rock chip in my line of site. I called Allstate to see if it was covered. The key to them covering it seemed to be that it was in the line of sight. I suspect they figure it's to their advantage to pay for a new windshield if it might prevent a customer from distraction and possibly having an accident.
It was a HUD windshield out of Roanoke Virginia and the installer said it was just over $1000. Didn't even have to pay a deductible for some reason. I followed the install with a new set of high dollar wipers. Now it's like looking out the windshield of a brand new car!
They said they didn't have to replace any of the trim or weather seals and I can't see any evidence it was ever replaced. Worth a call to your insurance co just to check IMO.
Before you all go rushing out to get that FREE windshield courtesy of your insurance company............just realize this:
Anytime you have a claim with an insurance company, as you will when you apply for that new glass, the incident is noted on your policy.
Now when you are assessed insurance rates, your accident and incidents are reviewed and when you have "claims"...your insurance rates will rise.
When I went from Arizona to Pennsylvania and needed to get new car insurance, I had 2 chips repaired on my C5 at different times in AZ. Both of those were "FREE"...................you know those guys that just hand outside the service bays at dealerships and parked along the road...always saying that chip repair is FREEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!
but they showed up as "CLAIMS" on my record. As such, they went against my record as far as liability claims and thus subsequent price increases............
now is there anything REALLY FREE from an insurance company?
I've decided to pay for chip repair out of pocket, and just use the 100% glass coverage in case of a total loss. Just my experience...and .02

The little sticker in the corner says GM on it so im assuming GM but i dont really know. I know the price on it would have around $1000 had i paid out of pocket. I dont know the specific of what type of damage it has to be. Mine was completely destroyed so there wasn't much option. i just got it replaced.
Congrats on the replacement! Almost makes it like a new car!!
I Just scheduled my HUD windshield replacement for next week Have a $500 deductible, but the repair tech is going to "work with me" for a bit of a break. Can't wait, as with MSG C5 I have a chip almost right in the view of the HUD, plus theres all kinds of chips, almost a sandblasted look. I've put off getting a windshield for years because I carried a $1k deductible for a while and the OEM HUD windshields are $$$
