Too Funny
I stopped by my local Chevy dealership parts department this morning to pick up some door panel clips to replace a few broken ones, and when I walked outside I had a small crowd standing around my Vette gawking and pointing.
There was a brand new C6 just a few feet away that everyone was ignoring, including its new owner.

haha. Gotta love that, even if you aren't the attention ***** type. It's just nice to see others appreciating what you've done.

It was definitely a shock. I was parked right in front of the main door, so when I walked out I walked right into the crowd. My first thought was that someone ran into my car and they were all looking at the damage. I was relieved when I found out they were just admiring her shine.

I think your post should have included a photo of your car so we can see what all the gawking was about

That's because C5's look much better and classsic than C6's.

That's exactly why I chose a C5 over the C6 when I was looking for a Corvette. The C5 was the only body style I was interested in.

Many C6 owners will not admit that! Our local club has slowly become a C6 club and even though the current Corvette generation has improved on the power plant and performance, the C5 still wins the beauty contests.
