27 when I bought my Z06 as well...though I'm hoping it's more of 1/3 life crisis; would like to make it past 62 as long as I can still drive!

405 horsies is plenty for me right now, I'm setting her up as a road racer I really love all vettes, I'm not going to lie, but our FRC body style looks the most like a purpose-built racecar to me... it's all business. Just enough room for two heads in the cabin, no need to slope the back glass

I drove the Vette down to Watkins Glen to watch the Rolex series race yesterday (the Corvette DP's are awesome! ), must have passed 6 Vettes coming the other way and not one of them returned the wave!

Most don't wave back, so honestly I kind of quit the deal altogether. I see older guys waving, but the newer crowd (like myself)...just don't. Then you have every guy on a damn bike waving...on sundays if you're behind a bike they don't stop wavin at each other...gayyy.

I love my 1999 FRC but don't like the rear brake cooling vents on the C5 Z06 models, GM could have spent a little more R&D money to fix that tuner-kit look.

You`re kidding right??? Hope so.

I hauled my Z06 UP to Watkins Glen on an open trailer. Got tons of waves from Army teams that were in convoy, not so much Vette guys. Then when I got there I drove my Z06 ON Watkins Glen. Got lots of waves from the Porsche guys there. Well I think they were waves, but they only had 1 finger up...

Oh and before I left. They rolled in the #90 Corvette DP in the bay next to me. I got to see it up close and take pics. Pretty cool ride.

Oh the wave thing, I kind of gave up on it before I took my car off the street. I did it a lot at first. It seems to be a dying thing.

Don't wave if you don't want to. I think it is a thing between drivers who think they own one of the iconic sports cars. If you disagee so be it.

I find most Men wave, not the females when they are driving the Vette. I think its a cool thing, same thing when riding a Bike, most give a small wave or nod...

I love the vette wave, my prior post didnt convey that properly. Its just that i get stiffed constantly and start feeling lame. What it comes down to though, is that there are two categories of vette owners...the ones who own the car because its iconic, has a cult following, is an amazing performance car and represents some sense of achievment...then there are those who just own it because its says something about them or their bank account. The latter crew...you ask them if they've been to bowling green and they say..."why...whats there?" Those are the guys that dont wave.

I get the wave from time to time. I always try to wave back, or initiate the wave.

I try to wave all the time to fellow sport bike riders, it just sorta carried over to the Vette.

Funny thing is, I get more looks and waves in my C3 then what I do in my Z0.

The older the Corvette, the more they wave. I always waved in my 60 and 65 and almost always got return waves or maybe they were just shielding their eyes from the reflection of the sun off the chrome. I've gotten a few wave backs lately, mostly from the C4 pilots! The newer the Corvette the less they wave unless it's a ZR1 or Z06. Wave or no wave back I still always give the wave to other Corvettes.

Back in the day, the wave was given by all sports car drivers. We,re talking 50s, as a kid I use to wave too from the back seat of our family sedan. Still wave, but , I flash my head lights (with the radioflyer conversion they now have a flash to pass mod) so now the pop-ups do the wave.
