I did just over thirty years in the Marine Corps. I knew that my son, who will turn 24 at the end of this month would never go into the military. Instead he became a police officer. We talked about it at length before he chose this path. I was convinced then, and remain convinced that he made the choice for the right reasons.
I am very proud of him, and the choice that he made.

My nephew is a police officer in Aurora, CO. We also talked at length about the pros and cons of a career in law enforcement. His decision was made in part because of my career, which is truly an honor. I attended his graduation this past January and pinned his badge on.
I was able to do a ride-along with him last week, and I was extremely impressed with how he conducted himself. Unfortunately, you don't often hear about the police officers who are out there every day putting their lives on the line for those who couldn't care less about them because it isn't newsworthy.
I've always felt that those serving in the military, law enforcement, and as firefighters/paramedics have chosen a very honorable and noble path.
I was pulled over in my work vehicle today. Guy already had a new orange Camaro pulled over. He said he was using laser, although I never saw it....anyway, I was given a warning, the guy in the Camaro a ticket. Makes ya wonder.
I started my law enforcement career in 1970 making $5,000 a year. When I retired in 2007 I wasn't making anywhere near 6-figures...........It doesn't take a college degree to develop honesty, integrity, common sense, sympathy or empathy. In fact, I dealt with many well educated people over the years who lacked some or all of those traits.
Keep telling myself that but the supercharged z06 just simply disagrees. This car can't do speed limits...
I try to get one every time...but my phone ran out of memory space. This was the assistant chief of the city in an unmarked. He said "I was certain you weren't stopping!" Edit: Forgot to add that they actually had me out of the car, hands on the roof and all. Gotta love the crooked communists in my area...

I can appreciate that.....but if it gets too much for you, maybe you need one of those electric smart cars instead!!!! lol

She was almost 95 and was ready. We'll miss her, however she's in a better place.
FWIW,
I found a safe place to pull over, opened the window, pulled down the visor, turned on the mirror light, placed both hands in plain sight, on the wheel, and said nothing unless asked. His first question was, where was I headed? He then asked for license and insurance card. I gave him both and my carry permit and told him I had a piece (9MM) in the trunk, unloaded and in a case (it was Illinois ).
Wow, he could have made your life miserable, and all you were doing was practicing your constitutional rights.

You should have not stopped, anyone can buy a expedition and put some lights from Ebay on them. Besides it is unconstitutional for them to be in unmarked vehicles in the first place and makes no sense. There is a reason some states restricted these stops and some courts invalidated them.
Mike 5511, That isn't my picture. I was just commenting on it. White22 gets all the credit for that one. I haven't had the opprutunity to get a picture like that. Not from a lack of trying, but thanks to my Escort 9500xi i have been able to avoid one. It is just a reminder of course

Unconstitutional!? Against policy in our state, but not against any law, much less the state/federal constitution. Why do people get mad when they speed and get caught????? Go to a track and have at it, but if you take your chances on the street (been there, done that, and likely to do it again!) don't BMW when you get caught.

Awww yes, so you were! My bad, but I agree it is a awesome pic. White22 ought to print a copy and give one to the officer, make a new friend!..................now back to my headlight motor repair.......
