Don't just not go back. Go back and get some of your money back. You got screwed unless they can show that they did something else to your car. Maybe it will keep them from jacking someone else.
Actually, I had some tires from Tire Rack that I had them put on the week before. Good price. I really did not even think about the alignment cost since they were ok on the tire mount and balance. Probably should have asked, but I had a lot going on and I really did not have any red flags from before, so I never gave it much thought. Guess thats what happens when you're not paying attention.
Just curious, I just paid over $200 for an alignment at a Firestone shop? Seems high to me, what do you guys pay.
I recently paid $74.99 at a "small town garage", who just bought a Hunter Hawk Eye alignment rack, yet in the past, paid $200 at the "artsy-fartsy" sports car emporium who had the first Hunter set up in the area, 10 years ago.
But at a "toe and go" specialist like a Firestone store, $200 is way out of line. I would say at most, a tire store alignment would be $99.95 for a Corvette.
Most shops in my area have quoted me at 70-80 bucks for the front. Another 70-80 if I want the rear.
Then again no one can really get my car up on any ramps.
That's what God invented 2x10 for. A couple of them, about 4 ft long, placed in front of the alignment rack's ramps, will get the nose of the car up enough to transition to the rack.
