Just lowered on stock bolts here but otherwise guilty. Corvette insanity is fun, or is it, maybe not, pretty sure I like it, sometimes I hate it, but the rest of the time I am sorta OK with being fine with it, unless I don't give a **** part of the time, which makes me feel guilty that I didn't like it part of the time.
Oh well, guess I'll go get my Vette dirty so I have to Frikkin clean the bitch again. I love my car, mostly.

If Toque ever decides to sell his Z06 there will be whole bunch of us ready to ****** it up because we all know how well he takes care of it. Although, my little one will probably end up with the Vette when the 16th birthday rolls around. I don't think she'd let me sell it even if I wanted to. I know my oldest would have disowned me if I'd tried to sell my Monte Carlo instead of giving it to her when she turned 16. All of her friends are jealous. 
Why would I... Its still new...
and... I got the last year for the HT, and they are not making them anymore.

I'm one of those insane guys.
Zaino polish to the paint monthly, and billet aluminum wheel polish monthly.
Weekly I start with full wheel well cleaning, wheel/tire cleaning, full engine detailing, full interior detailing, leather seat conditioning, full paint detailing, Rain-X windows. The list goes on.
I honestly spend 4-8 hours per week detailing my car. Well over 8 hours if it includes Zaino polish, and must more if I do a complete Adams metal polish to my wheels. Not because I have to, but because I enjoy it. My car looks like it just rolled off the assembly line, and I hope to keep it that way for years to come. It has not seen water from my hose since 2004.
I prefer to do my own maintenance on my cars to the best of my ability (all fluids, brakes, troubleshooting etc...etc..etc...)
I'm so insane I even created a web site about my car, and posted procedures on how to do things that I have learned over the years.

I visited your site one beautiful Vette. I hope to reach your level one day soon. Bought mine as a second owner lots of cosmetic work to do wax, clean ect... I intentionally bought a used Vette because I love working on cars and I figured if I bought a new one all I had to do is drive it, no fun. Now that is insane.

Apparently others were interested in the subject enough that they read it and commented. I feel and agree that anybody can spend as much time doing whatever they want to do, it's their life.

What blows my mind is when you see, lets say, an 02 with 8000 miles on it. How do you buy a 50K car just to polish and sit in the garage? I have a friend with a C5 that just sits that way.
It's even more widespread with Harleys. Lots of people bought them just to say they have one. I'm trying to sell my 00 with 34000 miles and finding out I'll be taking a huge hit. Told a friend I would feel even dumber if I hadn't riden it.

There is no such thing as "working" on the vette for me. It is a labor of love. And thanks to Toque's passion I have been able to do maintenance on my Vette that I wouldn't have tried because of his awesome site. Diff fluid, trans fluid, brake bleeding, shifter mod, all because he has that passion. So OBSESS I say!! It helps the community in the long run. Just live happy and drive happy
