Pre Z06, please start a "Monster clutch" thread to promote your preferred line of clutches.
Thanks, Doug
You got it...not trying to split hairs or take anything away from DBN's 1.274 accomplishment, but Mark Carlyle (atomic fusion) did cut a 1.270 as I'm sure you know
It also outperforms the SPEC 3+ in every way possible. I used to have a Spec3 Plus before I put a Mantic in. Not only did the spec feel like a rock but it chattered like mad even after 1500 miles. I had to slip the crap out of it at 2500RPM each time I left from a stop sign.
Absolutely no issues with the ER2 rowing through the gears with 500HP to the wheels!
Ike, our cars are almost identical ( but mine looks better, and has a better looking owner). I didn't know you had a mantic, when this spec 2 bites the dust, i'll try one. Doug, save one for me
I heard good stuff about Mantic and was actually suggested to buy that clutch for my Z06 by Lethal performance but i went ahead and chose Monster cause of their proven results by enthusiasts who daily drive them and im glad i did. If you dont mind me asking, does Mantic make a clutch application for 98-02 f-bodys ? Also being that yall say Mantic has a stock pedal feel, how much more would the Tick master cylinder make the pedal stiffer with a mantic clutch? Thanks

And thats almost as close as our 1.20 from 4DRUSH @ the MIR imports vrs domestic race or my personal vert @ 1.24 @ the LSX shootout. Then again not exactly when your talking those times from an IRS car huh? Kind of like saying an 9.0 ET is close to an 8.50 ET, at those times and these cars, not really....
For another clutch distributor to consistently come into a Mantic thread multiple times speaks for itself, in other words "the competition is watching" and that can only be taken as a compliment to those reading and myself, so I thank you for the added business.

The Mantic single and twin will fit your F-body application as well. We have installed them in cars that already had a Tick master and it really didn't seem to change the pedal feel drastically. Glad to hear your happy with your Monster.
My apologies, I'm just an enthusiast as everyone else. I guess because I have a special title being the manufacturer of clutches and not just a distributor it makes it different. I again had nothing negative to say about the clutches you sell, if they had been around first and then monster came out as the new flavor I'd expect you not to sit back...over and out

I am new to the forum. Have a '98 C5 (got it new in 97) but a little built with 506 RWHP. Starting to build the drive train before doing serious engine work. The shop I use likes RXT dial disc clutch but I have been reading about the Mantic as an option. Anyone care to comment on a preference based on what you have heard? I am going to couple this with LEV5-RPM transmission and new LSD before I get serious about the engine.
I am still on the fence... I run the ER2... Putting down 520-510 to the wheels... It feels "ok".... Gonna need to drive some of my buddies cars to compare... I don't really have an opinion yet.

For anyone who's had both, how would the ER2 compare to another stronger-than-stock-with-stock-driveability clutch like the LT1-S? I know it's a bit newer and a little more expensive, but it's not AS expensive as some of the other twins out there.
I've ran the ER2 for a little while now. HCI w/ a 150 shot. Pedal has never went to the floor, felt mushy or given me a problem. Never felt it slip and when your just cruising around, pedal feel and shifting feels like factory to me.
So far so good...maybe 4k miles I know guys with Monsters and McLeod's too...they've had good luck with those brands as well. All seem to be night and day better than the factory junk.
I am actually about to buy the Er2...This thread gives me even more confidence in the purchase. Installer said that all I need is what comes with the kit which includes bearing, pressure plate, clutch disc, flywheel and bolts...He said that he will order the oem cylinders, master & slave. Is that going to be okay? My car is pretty much stock and all I eventually want to add is just a honker/tune. Thanks for any input!

That's great news. Thanks for the feedback.
A friend of mine currently has the ER2 in his C5Z. He ran an 11.8x with consistent 1.6x 60fts at Sacramento Raceway. All he has done is longtubes and hoosier 245 drag radials. Still has the stock air box lol
