I've put a thumb through the material on my drivers sun visor so its time for a refurbishment.
Are there any DIY threads out there showing how to recover the visors? If not, how many of you have had them recovered and what material have you used? I had my console covered in leather so I guess that would be the most obvious way to go.
Dave, I replaced both of mine a couple months ago to fix the droopy issues every time I hit a bump. I found some new aftermarket ones on Fleabay. They "appear" original and solved the problem.
sfc rick recovered his a while back in converting his interior to all red. I think he mentioned having pics of part of the process, but not sure. You might check with him.

I have seen some posts here where the owner had leather covers put on the visors - not cheap but looked very good. Haven't seen any DIY instructions though.

I remember those Jack. Couldn't find the posts despite the updates on the search function
I bought the foam backed fabric at JoAnn's fabric. I cut the stitches and removed the old fabric. The card board was in bad shape so I got a piece of cardboad stock and cut a new piece of card board, cut the fabric to large enough to over lap about 1/2 inch. I used 3M spray glue and fit the fabric to the new card board. A local uphostery shop sewed it for $5. In the drivers side, I got a homelink from pick-a-part for $5, cut a new (slightly longer) piece of masonite with a slot for the homelink and now have a factory looking homelink visor. Not hard, just trace what you already have.
