Default ACP Hood?

I am looking at purchasing thier louvered air extractor hood to help reduce the under hood temps. I just looking for some info from others who have purchased from ACP, such as fitment, quality and customer service. I was also looking at the Tigershark hood that WCC sells but it does not look like it would vent as well. Thanks.

, how come. What issues did you have? The one I am looking at does not have the louvered center but a single opening.

Got your PM. Thanks for the heads up, I was really looking for a hood that would allow the heat to vent out. I guess I will keep looking, any suggestions?

Has anyone else had any experience with an ACP hood, or perhaps a different make/brand that can help extract heat from the engine compartment. Any help or advise is helpfull. Thanks.

I ran the ACP hood on my DS1C setup and it does not fit as well as a few others, but it did lower my water temps in the summer 5-8 degrees and my engine would cool down quicker once moving from stop and go traffic. I really liked the hood to bad it was destroyed in my accident

"Peter Pan" What other hoods have you run? Did any of the others vent as well? You say that it did not fit well, do you mean alignment or overall fitment? The one in your avatar looks nice.

I run the ACP extractor hood (see avatar) and it will help slightly with cooling (5 to 10 degrees), but the primary reason for the hood is the additional downforce it provides. Actually it's the removal of lift as opposed to the addition of downforce. Either way that light feeling that the bottom feeding C5 has at speed goes away.

I bought the fiberglass model ACP and the fit was excellent.

ACP are light wt Race products, not show and shine products. Big Difference.

I have the louvered air extractor hood in carbon fiber and the fitment was excellent. Great looking product and definitely helps to keep my temps down.

There is currently one for sale in C5 parts for a good price: http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c5-p...ctor-hood.html

Here is mine:

I only ran the stock hood, still got it in the shed. The gaps on the side and front were double the factory gaps. The one in my avatar I purchased used had broken tips my painter fixed it, was a glass hood and one of my favorite mods, none other like it, raised to fit a maggie with heat extractors that did help, yes the down force worked for me at 190+ at the Texas Mile.

If you want I can post up pictures of the install andyou can see the fitment.

I have the ACP extractor hood. The fit was great and it was about 10 lbs. lighter then stock. Customer service was very very poor.

Yes, please do so as I really like the hood.

I saw the one for sale and it is exactly what I want (fiberglass louvered air extractor) however it is only for local pick-up and I live in Ca. I have seen other hoods(MCM,Tigershark and other) that look almost as nice, but I am most interested in the venting abililty that the ACP louvered air extractor hood has.

Thanks.

"Mountainbiker 2", what type of customer service problems did you experience? Were they prior to, during , or after purchase? Thanks.
