I have a nice white never used top sitting in my upstairs closet. The Lexan top just makes the car look soooo damn good. The only time my painted top will get used is if something happens to my smoked top

I had both and sold the clear top, I like the painted top, Air works better with it, As does the heater. My car looks so much better with the painted top.
I love the clear top, I love the openness and the look is awesome. In fact, I'd use it all the time if I didn't need to turn the radio up higher on the highway and have the A/C constantly on full blast during my summers. My car gets hotter than an EZ-Bake sitting in the lot with the clear one.

I only have the lexan top on my current C5, but when I had my '99, it came with both tops. In the 1+ years that I owned the car, I think I may have put the solid top on the car 1-2 times. Since I didn't drive the car in the winter, I liked the lighter weight of the lexan top - made for quick and easy removal.
That said, I have wanted to buy a solid top for a while for my '03. With temps as high as they were this summer, it would have been nice to have kept the car a bit cooler. And I think the C5 looks very good with a body colored top.
Bought my 04 with both tops. Used the colored one once. It sits in the shed wrapped in a blanket. The lexan top has been on since. Have much more headroom and since my vette is black, it matches the body color very well.

Even though it's hot down here, I prefer the Lexan top year round. I put my Targa Top in the attic about 3 years ago, in it's cover, been there ever since.
Here's what I installed on my Lexan almost 3 years ago, works well for me, and have never had a problem with it,
I have only used the Lexan top on my 2000. When I got the car from the previous it came with both tops, but the colored one had been dropped and was damaged. I have not fixed it yet, and was considering making it a plasti dip project. Also, the lexan roof is showing signs of wear. It has the classic 3" worn strip on the passenger side.
Mine came with both. Quickly found out on a hot sunny day in Tennessee with lexan top feels like the air conditioner isn't working. As far as appearance kinda hard to tell which one is on since my car is black.
