I remember about 3.5 years ago buying my first Corvette C5. Every time when i was driving it i would notice other Corvette drivers would wave at me. One day i was talking with my buddy and mentioned this. He said ya that is the Corvette Wave, like the Jeep Wave and the Motorcycle point. I thought he was yanking my chain especially since he owns a Mustang. But i then came to find out it was true! there was this awesome thing shared between all Corvette drivers. I still love the way it makes me feel to wave to a fellow Corvette owner on the street.
So post it up! How did you first find out about the Corvette Wave? and if you didn't know, now you do, so keep the tradition going!
It is things like this that make me so proud to own a Corvette. I love the people, every Corvette owner i have met and all the people on this forum have always been so nice and helpful, i just have to say Thanks! It is no wonder why the call the Corvette, "The American Dream"
I used to ride a Harley so the Corvette wave just came naturally to me. Having been fortunate enough to own both of the true American icons sharing the love came with the keys.
I found out when everyone with a Vette waved at me. I naturally waved back. I ride motorcycles as well and was pretty used to it. I give the peace sign.
I knew about the wave before I bought my Vette, and received my first wave while I was test driving the Vette that I currently own. It was the 3rd car I test drove (I was trying to decide between a C5, M3, or a VR4 (I owned a base 3000GT at the time), and within the first 1/2 mile of my test drive a white C3 drove by and waved.....not going to lie though, it was a toss up between the C5 and M3.

I don't remember the first time exactly but I was probably 6 or 7 years old riding in my uncle's new '66 coupe. He would take me for rides pretty often and I would wave at the other Vettes on the road when he did. I do remember the first time I drove a manual trans though. It was in his '72 Corvette convertible (orange/white top), he took me to a large church parking lot and taught me how to drive a stick. I was 13 at the time.
The first time I heard about it, My cousin told me. He got his first Vette, a '63 roadster, a couple of years before i got my first one, "71 coupe, still have it. He told me about the wave, also, back then, a lot of guys would hold up 2 fingers, meaning V for Vette! I think it must have died out because that's what the Porsche guys do. V for Victory. (whatever!)

You just reminded me of my first Corvette Wave! Mine was on the test drive of my Vette too! At the time I thought they were just trying to say "hey, cool, buy it!!"...then I bought it...the only Vette I tested...on my way home I started to think they were planted by the dealership to get me to buy...
I bought it in February and live in WA so due to weather I didn't get to drive it much for a few months...my second Corvette wave happened near my work...I figured it out but too late to wave back.

Not my first wave but one of the best.....came from a guy on a Harley and gave me the wave.....loved it. Mutual Respect
