That is just simply is false. If he drove the car to and from work and went and bought grocieries on the weekend, hed still have oil accumulation in a catch can. If he did have a supercharged engine or turbos, that would just increase the need for the catch can.
If you can explain to us how pulling oil into the cumbustion chamber, and letting it pool up on the intake manifold floor as well as letting it build up on the tops of the pistons and valve faces is "good", then I will go out to the garage and pull my catch can off toninght.
Every LS engine can benefit from a catch can and is simply something that should have been intergrated into the engine design by GM.
John, really dont want to be bad here but when you have a car other than being more than stock let us know what a catch can, will do and not for a car. By his statement he dont run it hard per say at all so really dont see a reason to put that money out there on a can. unless you are really ******* these motors are the motor is in need of rebuild that can dont get oil in it. With all the stock setup on the motor it works great... Robert
Didn't intend to trigger a heated debate, but i ordered a dual check valve RX catch can and after i install and run awhile i will let you know if it is catching any oil.

Ok, first, my car isnt stock. Im cammed,(with all supporting mods for a cam) full exhaust and UD pulley and dyno tuned. 411/380 so youre wrong there. Second, I said it doesnt matter how you drive an LS6 it sucks oil into the intake period. They all do. I experimented with it myself and drove my red 02Z normaly without ******* on it and guess what was in the catch can after 3000 miles.... you guessed it oil!! I drove the car how I like to drive the car and it only took 1000 miles to get oil in the can. Either way you stack it, there was oil in the can that didnt get into the cumbustion chamber where it doesnt belong. So youre wrong again!

Give it at least a couple thousand miles before bothering to check it. I think most people just empty them at oil changes, unless the car sees track time. They don't fill up fast, especially if you drive as easy as you claim to.
I have the Elite kit installed on my Z06, which I check periodically when checking the oil. It always amazes me how much oil accumulates in there. If not for the catch can, it would be in my intake.
Myself I tried a few combinations, recently Rev Extreme convinced to give there's a try. If that one fails I will most likely follow SpinMonsters configuration.
Also my motor sees plenty of exercise, that is a big factor in what happens in the Intake.
